I spent 1 night at the DoubleTree. Check-in was quick and I received my complimentary cookie. That was it for special amenities though (no water or other goodies). The suites are huge, with two very large rooms, one with a sitting area, table / desk, and refrigerator and microwave, and the other the large bedroom. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The room was very warm when I arrived. I set the thermostat all of the way down and it was comfortable for sitting within a few hours, but I still found it too warm for sleeping. The hotel was quiet. One annoying thing was that the LCD clock did not have a light, so every time I'd wake up (because I was too warm) I had to turn on the room lights to see what time it was. The hotel also has an exercise room with the usual equipment, but it does not open until 6:00 in the morning. This can be kind of annoying if you want to exercise, shower, and eat breakfast before work, because it means that you and everyone else who wants to do the same thing needs to be there right at 6:00, so it is very crowded. It seems to be set away from the guest rooms so I don't really understand why they don't leave it open 24 hours. Of the three hotels I stayed at on this trip it was the most expensive, and while the room was the largest it otherwise offered the least.

Thanks for sharing your experience at our hotel. It is comments such as yours that help us to know of areas that may need improvement. I apologize that you were unable to get the temperature of your room to a comfortable level and that the fitness center was not open when it was most convenient for you. Our security guard is able to open the fitness center for anyone who may need to utilize it outside of the standard hours, but since the pool is in the same area we are unable to leave it open all night for safety reasons. We look forward to having you as our guest again on your next visit to the Raleigh/Durham area.
