We LOVE this hotel! We use this hotel often for our trips to Duke for our daughter and we've never been disappointed!

This was a trip to attend a friend's wedding. The hotel was located conveniently between Duke and UNC Chapel Hill. The pool was great. The breakfast was fine and the bed was big and comfortable

Things I liked about this hotel: Spacious rooms, great location, clean (other than the carpets), courteous staff.
Things I didn't like: Hard, uncomfortable mattress; so hard that I considered driving over to Walmart and buying a foam mattress topper. Stained carpet, some rather large. It kind of grossed me out.

I keep reading great reviews and feel the need to chime in. I booked a 2 bedroom suite in May, for August college move in. I received confirmation that it would be non-smoking. I called about 2 weeks before to confirm (2 bedroom suite, non-smoking).

We arrived after midnight (flew in from CA), dead tired, to be told our room was not available (it had been given away that day), and were placed in a smoking room. It stank like smoke, as did the entire floor. After 2 nights they were able to move us to a smaller non-smoking.

In addition, be aware that there is no maid service on weekends. There are better options. I've stayed here twice, and have found better values elsewhere near campus (including hotels that are entirely non-smoking, so no more issues with that).
