“Nice getaway within the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

Celebrated an anniversary here for one night and left the babies behind with grandma. We were the only guests, and Carol offered to serve us breakfast at a time that suited us. The ambience of the Inn is nice, though the nearby area is more of a business park/industrial park type area. However, it's a nice, close drive from downtown Durham and Chapel Hill, so we loved the getaway within a few miles. Yummy breakfast and coffee, the room was lovely and comfy.

“All the Charms and Comforts of a Country Home.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2010

My partner and I recently stayed a couple of nights at the Inn, and our only regret was that we came too early to see the beautiful garden in full bloom. Carol is great hostess, not to mention a wonderful chef, who really knows how to make someone at home. I will be staying here during every visit to Durham.

“Quaint old house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2010

Stayed recently at this delightful B & B in Durham. This delightful old house is filled with antiques from glassware to pictures. Carol goes out of her way to make you feel at home and dos it with ease. The rooms are spacious with all the amenities. Not far from Duke University and a few minutes from downtown makes this a good place to stay. Don't be put of by the strange neighborhood...

“Wonderful hosts, great place for a wedding, a real pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2009

I personally actually did not stay at Carol’s - our daughter was married in the gardens associated with the Inn. Daughter, fiancée/husband and 2 wedding party members stayed there. What a wonderful experience we all had. We had the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and wedding/reception in the gardens over a two night period May 1 & 2, 2009. Carol and husband Steve were incredibly helpful, supportive even to the point of helping friends and family decorate. Steve strung lights, cleaned up the area, took care of trash-recyclables, provided advice, assistance, etc. The pavilion on site was used for food/bar and dancing - we rented a tent and the tables, chairs etc for the two dinners (rehearsal & wedding). All was perfect. The two day festivities were low key and Earth friendly (compostable plates and utensils at the rehearsal dinner, etc) – more a party for friends and family than a wedding. . Wonderful and caring hospitality is clearly Carol and Steve’s modus operandi. The B & B itself is charming, gracious and as I understand it with wonderful food and comforts. We highly recommend the Inn – I do not have enough superlatives to do it justice

“Charming, lovely inn”

My husband and I spent five wonderful days at this charming inn filled with antique furniture but also a jacuzzi tub and wi-fi--the best combination of old and new. The breakfasts in the oak filled dining room were wonderful and Carol always had fresh backed cookies, juices and fruit available in the dining room. A wonderful alternative to a souless motel. The grounds and pond offer a great retreat.
