“Wonderful getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

My wife and I had a very nice time staying at Carol's Garden Inn. The first night, we arrived later than expected (around 9 PM) and Carol herself was waiting to greet us. The Inn is warm, welcoming, and feels very authentic and homey. We visited the week before Christmas, so the house (interior and exterior) was completely decked out with seasonal decorations, which my wife absolutely loved. Our room (I believe it was the Daisy Room) was very charming and the hall outside the room had a generous selection of books and movies available to guests.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention perhaps the two most memorable aspects of Carol's Garden Inn. The first was Carol's breakfasts - they were amazing. Every morning when we rose and ventured out of our rooms, we were greeted by aromas of German apple pancakes, homemade cinnamon rolls, or omelets. What a great way to start the day. The second most memorable aspect of our visit was Carol herself. She was so warm and welcoming! She helped us with suggestions of must-see spots in Durham. She made us feel very much at home. Thanks Carol - we look forward to staying with you again whenever we return to the area!

“Awesome place!”

Rented Carol's Garden Inn for our wedding. The wedding party stayed at the inn Friday and Saturday night and held the wedding there on Saturday. We couldn't have had a more perfect weekend! We recommend Carol's for a large event like ours for just for a quick "getaway". Thank you Carol and Steve! It was a wonderful experience!!!!

“Great venue for a wedding”

Carol and Steve took great care of me and the wedding party this past weekend. The grounds are beautiful, quiet and convenient to many places in Durham, NC.

“Quaint and Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

When you arrive at Carols Garden Inn, you are greeted by Carol herself and escorted into a beautiful setting filled with homey touches everywhere. Family photos on the walls, quaint decor and the warmth of a hostess that makes you feel like family.

The propert behind the house is immaculate, well manicured, and the perfect spot for a wedding, which was the reason we were there. The banquet facilities are perfect and the land is wonderful, filled with ponds, huge rees, and lots of grass. The only thing missing was a gazebo.

The room that I had the privelege of staying in was the "Rose Room" which was nicely furnished, and VERY comfortable. I had some of the best sleep ever while I was there.

If you are looking for a place to have a wedding or party in a large back yard, or a comfortable place to feel like you are home when you are not, this is the place for you while in the Raleigh/Durham area. Carol makes you feel welcome and the land is just amazing. Thanks for a great expeience, Carol!

“Country Atmosphere with City Convenience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

We had 6 family members traveling to the area for a family reunion. We searched hotels and B&B's for rates and convenience. We are very pleased to have booked and stayed at Carol's Garden Inn. As a group of six, we booked all 3 of the rooms. They were all well appointed, spacious and appropriate for the B&B experience. The breakfasts were nice and Carol gladly shared a couple of her recipes when asked. The home and the grounds are amazing. They have put a tremendous amount of work into restoring this home and should be applauded for preserving it's character and grace. What's also amazing is the location vs the feel of this property. Eventhough it is on a somewhat busy road - off another busy road - you hear and see very little of that urban intrusion when you stay at the Inn. That unique feature allows you to relax and enjoy your stay while still being able to access the airport and loads of shopping and restaurants within a reasonable drive. We all enjoyed a very pleasant stay over 3 nights and heartily recommend Carol's Garden Inn if you are looking for accommodations in the area.

Room Tip: The room downstairs has it's own private porch off the back, overlooking the beautifully landsca...
