I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 or 5 times over the past two years, and it has never been anything short of excellent. The staff is extremely friendly, the manager's reception every night has great food (who needs dinner?), and the rooms have always been clean as can be.

The fitness center is not very large, but has good, working equipment, and I have never had to wait long for a treadmill.

The location is also very convenient - just off of I-40 with a variety of restaurants within walking distance including Applebees, Outback, and a Japanese restaurant.

When I am in the area, this is my go-to hotel.

I have to travel to the Chapel Hill/Durham area 4 or 5 times a year so I have had the chance to stay at several different hotels. I prefer suite hotels because there is more room and I hate paying for breakfast!

So far, this is my favorite suite hotel in the area. It's right off of route 15/501 between Duke and UNC Chapel Hill, so convienent to both schools. It is nicer than the other suite hotels around it (e.g. Country Inn and Suites and the Marriott Springhill Suites and just as nice, if not nicer than the Residence Inn which is about 5 minutes closer to Chapel Hill).

The staff at the hotel are very nice and they are serious about putting their money where their mouth is -- e.g. they really will comp. the hotel night if you are not satisfied. -- On my first stay at the hotel the AC unit was very noisy and it kept me up all night. When I told them about the problem the next morning, they told me I didn't need to pay for the hotel night. I have been back 3 times since and have not had any problems.

While the hotel overall was lovely, we were very disappointed with our room and the front desk's handling of the situation. We specifically reserved a non-smoking room but after a long day of travel we checked in about 11pm. We were told the only room available was smoking. The hallway smelled of old smoke and flowery spray. The smell in the room was overpowering. We slept with the windows open despite the 30-something degree temps outside. The front desk told us that they are frequently sold out and that we should "be thankful to have gotten a room at all". As a Hilton Honors member, we were stunned because service is usually fantastic!

I always expect to find good properties through Hilton. However, this property well exceeded my expectations. Not only was the housekeeping strong, so was the maintenance on the property. It was one of the best properties I have seen for both areas. On top of that, the decor and more important the customer service was excellent. The Front Office Manager Maggie was very warm and informative to me as well as the rest of the staff I interfaced with.

I will be travelling back in the next few months and am looking forward to my stay.
