“OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

For a casual hotel the customer service here was outstanding. Keep in mind this is not the Ritz, however if you are needing a larger space for family or extended stay you can't go wrong. We had 2, 2 bedrooms suites. Each had everything we needed. We did stay in the unremodeled section and were still happy. Let me reiterate this is not a full scale hotel but more of an extended stay place. We had numerous issues (not the hotels fault) but they did everything in their power to make us as comfortable as possible. Even getting our luggage that the airline delayed in the middle of the night so we wouldn't have to be woken up after traveling ALL DAY. When we needed additional room, no problems, a last minute taxi - they got it. Everyone we encountered (Angie and ???) were more than willing to go out of their way. THANK YOU THANK YOU! MARRIOTT’S ROCK

“WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2010

For only $55 a night (booked through expedia) my boyfriend and I stay here on a regular basis (about once per month) when we visit Raleigh/Durham. It is like having a home-away-from-home. The description leaves much to be desired, which makes the arrival a pleasant surprise! Full kitchen, livingroom, amazingly comfortable bed, vanity area, and bathroom! Cable and internet included :) Absolutely love this hotel.

Important note...stay upstairs and the buildings furthest away fromt he office are best. If you stay in the buildings immediately surrounding the office there is a tennis court in the courtyard area and unfortunately because this is a residence inn there are monthly guests. kids will often play in this area making for annoying wake-up calls LOL but anywehre upstairs or in the further buildings is amazing.

P.S While your there eat at this mexican restaurant (can't remember the name) its near nineth street in raleigh. open til 4a.m. tastes amazing. its above a dance studio. ALSO dales indian has amazing food. Try to Curry and rose flavored Lassi

“Nice Business Hotel in RTP”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2010

I have been staying at several hotels in RTP over the last year. This was my first visit to the Residence Inn in RTP - Durham. There is a Chick-fil-a across the street (very walkable). A Starbucks is about 2 blocks away, along with just about every fast food imaginable. Access to I40 adjoins the property (i.e. very close).

I give the hotel good marks and would definitely go back. I found a good rate on line and stayed for two nights in May 2010. The room is a bit larger than a typical business hotel. It had a full kitchen including refrigerator, microwave, stove, sink, dishes, glasses, even a bag of microwavable popcorn.

The room also had a corner sofa and fireplace (though the fireplace only uses special logs which you have to buy from reception). The sofa was a pull out bed. There was a 21 inch TV (not flat panel) between the sofa area and bed, visible from both areas. The bath room and dressing room was typical business hotel.

The room was clean and housekeeping did a good job both mornings.

The free wi-fi worked great throughout the property. There is a nice outdoor pool, though it had not yet opened for the season when I was there. The workout fitness room had two treadmills, an elliptical, stair machine and bike I believe. The equipment was pretty low end and there are no weights, free or machine. But, the treadmill worked for me just fine.

The common area is kept clean. The free breakfast is ample. Two or three juices, coffee, yogurt, cereal, microwavable sausage biscuits, english muffins, muffins, and a waffle machine. The newspaper offering is the local Raleigh newspaper and the USA Today. No WSJ.

Both nights I was there had a manager's reception from 6pm till 7:30pm. This was a carafe of red and white wine, along with a pitcher of beer. Snacks included small servings of Haagen Daz and Ben&Jerry's ice creams as well as frozen burritos to microwave. Oh, I also found fresh chocolate chip cookies. I understand this reception is not every day of the week though.

Frankly I wish I had found this one sooner as it just worked much better for me compared to the others I have been staying at in the area for roughly the same price.

“I stay here all the time and am always satisfied...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2010

I am a frequent traveller and stay at this property at least 1x per month for 2 or 3 nights at a time. It's as good or better than any other Residence Inn in the country. If you are disappointed in this place it's probably because your expectations are too high. If you want a fancy place ot stay in the area ,try either the Ulmstead in Cary or the Franklin Hotel in Chapel Hill.
