Every other place in the area was either sold out or was charging over 100 dollars for no breakfast. Econo lodge isn't the classiest hotel but it doesn't need to be. For under fifty dollars we got a decent room and a nice breakfast on the way out in the morning. STaff was helpful and welcoming and I really have no complaints. It was great for an overnight stay and very clean!

We have family in Huntersvile and have stayed at various motels in the area. On August 15th we stopped at the Econolodge. The outside looked inviting. The grandchildren checked out the pool area while we went in to register. Both the pool area and the lobby were clean and inviting. THAT'S WHERE THE INVITATION STOPPED!!!!! Our room was filthy. I had to pull out the night stand looking for a plug and I don't believe it had been cleaned behind in a month. The tub area was so filthy and full of hair we nixxed the idea of bathing! Thinking it was only our room, I said nothing to our family members in an adjoining room. The next morning when I called my daughter who was in that room and asked if they were going down for breakfast, she said, "Oh mom, as dirty as the room is, could you really eat here?" Although we stayed in the area additional days, needless to say we did not choose to remain at Econolodge!"

my family LOVES this hotel. it is extremely family friendly. the rooms and hotel are very clean. it is decorated nicely. we find all of the workers to be so warm and friendly. they all stop and take the time to talk to me and my children. the pool is so crystal clear and clean. it is in a great location - close to the highway. the breakfast doesn't have a ton of food, but my kids love it, and wake up asking to go down to eat. it is not a new hotel, but it is kept up and well cared for. this is not a fancy hotel, but it is nice, clean, and filled with wonderful people. we will stay again.

Don't do it, don't stay here! The only good thing about this motel is the staff--they were all very nice and helpful. But the place itself is awful--I felt like I never wanted to touch any surfaces.
First problem was the A/C unit--it didn't have any cool air at all. Maintenance was up to the room in mere minutes, but couldn't get the unit to work. We were moved to another room down the corridor very quickly and efficiently, and maintenance made sure that this unit worked. There was no fridge or microwave in this room, but he brought one, again in just minutes.
Clock radio wouldn't stay plugged into the plug behind the bed, so it was useless.
Pillows are like sleeping on a Sunday newspaper--very flat.
Towels are about 6 thread-count, very scratchy--would make good dish scrubbers.
Next day, our room was not made up by 3PM, so we thought they were running late. Still not made up at 10PM, so we had to go get our own towels and coffee packs. Front desk was very apologetic and friendly. Got back to the room and one of the towels had a clump of black hair on it--ugh!
The next day, the room was made up by noon, but no towels yet. They did come later on.
Continental breakfast was cereal, toast, bagels and canned fruit salad--nothing fresh. Coffee was average.
All in all, I guess you get what you pay for--all this for $55 a night.
