I have family in Clinton, but they didn't have room to put me up, so I needed to find a motel. They suggested the Comfort Inn, but at $115 per night, I couldn't afford it. I found the Days Inn through a web search. The price was right at $48 per night so I booked it. When I told my family about it they told me to cancel as soon as possible. Apparently this place had a bad reputation with noise, parties, drugs and in general, being dirty. I was really worried about staying there, but I had made non-refundable reservations.
I'm SO happy to report that this motel was MUCH BETTER than its reputaion. I found out from the owners (who were onsight) that when they purchased the motel 3 years previous, it was rundown but they worked very hard to clean it up. And it showed.
The room was huge and obviously recently remodeled with very nice furnishings. It was very clean. It also had a mini fridge and microwave which was convenient. And the tv was a good size. The only (very minor) drawback was in the bathroom. The toilet paper holder was loose and the handle on the toilet had to be held down to flush. No biggie.
We also made use of the pool which was clean and well kept.
They do have a breakfast bar in the lobby. Little selection (breads, donuts, cereal, juice and coffee) but it saved us from having to pay to eat out.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Apparently the location isn't the best in town as it is in the industrial area. And the views are of factories, stores and railroad tracks. But since the room was quiet and clean and so inexpensive, these were non-issues for us.
If you are travelling to or through Clinton, I would highly recommend this motel.
