“For one night...just average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

In October, I had an overnight stay at the Comfort Inn in Cherokee, NC. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean. But, the TV reception was very poor. Most channels were 'snowy' while others couldn't be viewed at all. Just shadows moving on the screen. The shower in the bathroom was awful! Absolutely no water pressure. And, if you were taking a shower during a prime time when other guests were showering, at best you'd have drizzling lukewarm water. For the $120+/night paid, I at least want a decent shower.
However, I will say the river that runs at the back of the hotel is magnificent! Very beautiful scenery!
If I was traveling back to Cherokee, NC for an overnight stay, I'd look into other hotels first before I would book a room here again.

“Absolutely awesome”

We were quite pleased with the overall experience at this hotel. The room was large enough and had a unique design character, with two queen beds and a nice small sitting area. The balcony was large enough....could have used a small table. We had a beautiful river view. It appeared that our side of the hotel was much newer than the other side which may be the difference in the reviews. It was quite clean and the check in girl was very friendly. The breakfast left a bit to be desired but continental is usually not something to write home about. Just a couple of miles from the casino and entrance to the park in a very quiet and pretty area. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: AS you face the hotel, the rooms on the right side look to be newer and will have a riverview.

“Very Rundown City”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in a suite room. The tub/Jacuzzi was not cleaned each day. The bed was old and the carpet was old. The whole place was in need of a big renovation. There is hardly no place to eat decent unless you drive the 20 minutes to Gatlingburg. I just do not recommend staying in this city. The nicer hotels and places to eat are all in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville which are all a stones throw from each other. Lets face it, a nice clean comfortable hotel is half the vacation! It is worth it to me anyway and the cost is hardly any difference to get a nicer place. The Hampton Inn that sits off the parkway is extremely nice. Incredible bedding and much much more! The breakfast area at the Comfort Inn in Cherokee was messy compared to the spotless area of the Hampton Inn. Add a few bucks and stay in a nice clean comfortable place!

“In need of update and deep cleaning.”

Stayed for a night. Hotel is on a beautiful river but you can't see it from any of the rooms unless you go out the back door onto a tiny balcony. The only view from the room is the highway. Too bad they didn't put a window facing the river. Room was fairly clean but in need of updating and deep cleaning. Carpet was a bit nasty. No bare feet! Television had irritating issues. For $ 110 it was far from a bargan. Won't stay there again. Too many other good places in the area.

“Wasn't the best hotel I've stayed in - but not the worst either!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This hotel was just "ok" to me. It looked nicer on the outside than it did on the inside. It's just a little run down and so are the balconies (balcony's?). A fake plant would do that patio wonders!! :) The view was really pretty and it is SO quiet there. The front desk guy could use a crash course in friendliness but it didn't ruin my stay. BUT - the one thing that made my husband and I decide we wouldn't be back was the ROACHES. Yes, the roaches. I'm shocked I haven't seen them mentioned here yet. We stayed for a weekend only and went all weekend without seeing a single bug. When we woke up on 9/11 Sunday morning, there was one in the bed with us. YUCK. This was at 7am and check out was 11am. Needless to say, we jumped up - grabbed our stuff and bolted out of there. I told the front desk girl about it while I was checking out and she didn't seem horrified, interested or concerned in the least. But of course, it's not her house or business right? So no, I don't recommend this hotel to anyone until they call an exterminator. $100 a night is RIDICULOUS for this place. I've stayed in much nicer places for the same price.

Room Tip: Smoking rooms are on top floors only. Great views there.
