We choose holiday inn express because it serves free breakfast. Also, we wanted someplace in between Bryson city and Maggie valley for our day excursions. This hotel is also right across the street from the casino. The only gripe I really have is the grout areas in the bathroom and the toilet seat. They both were stained. I do not have this in my home and I do not expect it where I stay. The toilet seat was cleaner when I got done with it, but I could not remove the stains. It is overdo for a replacement. Also, one of the beds sheets were actually put on sideways.

Check in was very friendly and quick. The hotel was almost empty on a Thurdsay night. The room was quiet. The breakfast was typical Express fare. We opted to drive to the casino to avoid the traffic and the cold. We really had no problems.

Just an average place to stay, nothing great. Just across the street from the Casino, but be careful when crossing the street on foot, lots of traffic.

Across the street from the casino, but noticed after arriving that the Holiday Inn is actually more convenient than this hotel even though it is not as new. The service was nice, but upon check in the front desk agent answered her cell phone while checking us in and seemed to be having a personal conversation. The hotel is clean and room was cozy, but breakfast was a problem. Part of the reason we chose the hotel was for a hot breakfast, but the eggs and biscuits/gravy looked unappealing so I passed. Unfortunately, my boyfriend decided to try it and got SICK. We had to call for a late checkout so he could sleep it off and recover, it could have ruined our trip. Needless to say, if you don't want to eat in the morning, stay there, but avoid the hot foods.
