So here it is...

I was driving the family down to Florida and we decided to take the scenic route. This motel was convenient because it was on the way and allows pets. So there were 8 of us with 3 dogs. We needed two rooms next to each other so we made reservations to have them. When we arrived we were greeted to the site of some strange guy with a large knife walking around the office area in his bathing suit which freaked the kids out. So then we get to the counter to be told there are no rooms together and they're sorry. We were not happy and they offered to call a different motel 6 that might have two rooms together. We declined to leave and somehow they suddenly found two rooms adjoining, looking back I wish we had left. We get to the rooms and they are absolutely disgusting and smelly. We were so tired we stayed but should have left the smell in one room was like urine and the other cigarettes yet both were labeled no smoking and the smoke detectors were all tampered with and disconnected. So we wanted food and they told us only dominoes delivered there, what a shock the key cards were pre printed with their info. We couldn't even call from the room phone because it didn't work. So we got that nasty pizza if you can even call it pizza and were all sorry with bathroom needs. Also it seemed there was a hotel party above us with people going from room to room all night. Also you need to pay $3 for wifi at this motel. So overall it was just a disgusting and miserable place to stay I decided cheap was not the way to go on the way home. And read the reviews to find our return hotel. We spent $52 a night here at this time.

First of all the room was supposed to be a non-smoking room. One foot in the door and you could tell smoking was present, plus there was an ashtray in the room. Why put it there if it is supposed to be a non smoking room. The floor was so dirty I dared not put my bare feet on it. When I was to go to sleep, I pulled down the sheets and there was hair all over the sheets!! The sheets were filthy. I immediately called the office and to their credit they did give me clean sheets. The bathroom, however, was clean. If it wasn't for the fact that I travel with a light sleeping bag to sleep in I would have left.

We are doing a RoadTrip and so tried to find cheap but safe places for just one night stays.

Ok location, but not alot around the area. I'm not keen on the Motel 6 chain not providing a coffee maker in your room even if they do say they offer coffee in the morning at the Reception Office.

The Air Con was good but there is no Wi Fi at all here (not even at a price). There was no bathtub and the shower was hard to stop the bathroom from getting wet. The other guests were fairly mixed (we are 2 white girls) and the room was nice. For a price of $46 it was just about right.

Now I realize that motel 6 even though is not franchising so much as other motel chains its very unpredictable. Some motel 6's are good but some not. About this one basically I agree with the previous reviews. First, the hotel as a previous reviewer mentioned is not located in a bad part of the town but attracts people that you definitely don't want to invite in your home. I guess that's why they have this "late night check-in" where you basically cannot access the lobby. Note that I went for a coffe at 8 am and still the lobby door was locked!
Motel is difficult to find. Even though visible from the highway, once you take the exit there is nowhere a sign to guide you. The area looks ok. Appears to be commercial. Many hotels around and across motel a gas station and convenient store. But be aware to see many weird guys shopping there.
Big advantage of the motel is that it is at walking distance from the light rail station (about a mile). I walked this even after dark and felt safe. With the light rail you access downtown in 10 min and pay just $1.50.
I stayed two night and the first night was terrible. People at the next room very noisy. I could also hear footsteps from the room above. I slept only two hours. For the next night I requested a new room at the second floor. This was excellent and quite. Lesson to be learned: Request a room on the second floor and pray that the people next to you sleep quietly. Unfortunatelly, it turns out most rooms areconnected by a door. This not only contributes to the noise but also adds a somewhow "unsafe feeling".
In summary, to be honest if I had the choice again I would pay the "extra $10.00" and would select the super 8 across the street. This motel 6 is designed for this "bad people" that also the previous reviewer indicated. It's not made for you, so why risking?
