Proximity to the Charlotte airport and cost were what persuaded us to try this Marriott property in Charlotte for the first time. We arrived about 7:30 p.m. Two bellmen stood inside talking to one another about something which must have been very important because it caused them to totally ignore us. I left my car and went inside to ask to use the luggage cart which they were leaning on. This almost led to arm-wrestling with them as they didn't want me to take it. Oh well, the desk, clerk was polite. Off to the fifth-floor room which seemed to be clean but average furnishings and all sorts of clashing prints on the standard hotel furniture. The beds were comfortable. The place was noisy due to some kind of little girl event going on and the participants were walking around through the night talking like it was noon, but that wasn't Mariott's fault. Everything was pretty average. We did appreciate the apparent cleanliness. Breakfast was expensive but featured huge servings of nicely prepared foods. I recommend Mariott update this property soon, especially the entrance, which makes you feel like you're coming in the back door. Oh, and try to train your bellmen to welcome guests, not argue with them, ok?
Room Tip: The north side is probably best for view and low noise.
