“Beware”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2007

Beware! If I had read the other reviews, I would have been warned. You have been warned. Location is not so safe. Bad part of area. Room was like a dungeon...Urine dried on underneath of toilet seat. I cleaned it myself....yuck. decor old and did not match...rather worn out. Beds were fine. Noisy....other guests were wild in behavior....would not stay there again at all. Close to airport, but so are other motels that are nice and clean....choose one of them..Price is cheaper...but not worth the money
This should NEVER have the name of Quality Inn & Suites.

“Stay at your own risk”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2007

We stayed here twice. The initial reaction is that the room is clean. That is the surface. Dust was a 1/4 inch think in places. Sink stopper was missing and coffee (at least I hope it was coffee) was spilled on the bathroom door and never wiped off. This is just a few of the things. The advertised breakfast was pretty much non existent. A piece of toast and weak coffee. No juice, pastries, cereal, milk, etc. We went to a restaurant.

The staff is nice.

For the price, it seemed ok and we were only sleeping there. That was until I got home and the bites from the bedbugs all broke out. Never stay here unless you like to live dangerously.

“Bumped out on a flight...get a free room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2007

I was "volunteered" aka bumped out for my flight in Charlotte to my home. In their comps, I was given a free hotel for the night (without my luggage). On the upside, the room was clean with a smaller bathroom. The water was fine. However, on the downside, the mattress was a basic motel stuff, hard springs throughout.

There are a Crackle Barrel and Waffle House is walking distance plus a gas station if the tank is empty.

For the money, I stay there again. But then, it wasn't my money.

“Worst Hotel experience of my life!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2006

I made reservations on the Hotels site to stay at the LaQuinta Inn Charlotte Airport.

When we arrived in Charlotte from Massachusetts we called for directions to the hotel and the young lady at the desk said "85, exit 33" and hung up. We found the exit after going on the highway and going north and then south only to find we needed only cross over 85 (not get on it!). We found the corner of Queen City Drive and went left to the end, turned around and went right to the end and then called the hotel again. The same young lady said "we're right next to Cracker Barrel". I asked if there weren't another hotel in that location. She said "yeh, Quality Inn, that's us". So, after an hour of driving around in the rental car we found the hotel. It has changed names, ownership and management. It is dirty, and moldy, and stinks of cigarette smoke and other things. When I mentioned the wild goose chase that the young woman sent me on she shyly said "I know" and proceeded with our booking. We did not have time to look for another hotel. We quickly prepared and left for the Statesville High School graduation ceremonies and barely made it to Statesville in time to get seats. This was my worst experience with Hotels. I hope never to repeat this one. Oh, and someone should tell La Quinta that their name is being used to draw customers to a flea bag.

“Hated this hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2005

The first room we were given had no cold water and the sink was broken. They moved us to a second room which was non-smoking, but smelled like an ashtray! The floor was not clean and I cleaned the bathroom myself before using it. After checking out, I realized I had left my cell phone in the room. Because I was at a conference, I could not return until 6 pm at night. I was told the cell phone had been put in the manager's office which was locked and that no one else had a key to the office. They then informed me that they were not allowed to call the manager back in to open the office. They said I would have to call him the next business day. I did and was told my phone would be put in the mail that day. One week later I had not received my phone. I called again only to be told that the phone was still sitting on the manager's desk. It was only after threatening to call the LaQuinta "headquarters" and complaining that I received my phone back. I will never be returning to this hotel again.
Moral of the story: Be sure you bring disinfectant with you and have gotten everything that is yours before you check out of this place. Better yet, book a room somewhere else.
