“Perfectly adequate”

For the price - just over $70 - it was fine. Free wi-fi is a plus and the room was clean and decent-sized, but the musty smell (room 226) was hard to overcome. The continental breakfast is the standard spread of cheap carbs (muffins, waffles, etc). For the price and purpose, which was just a break from the drive, I'd stay here again, but wouldn't do backflips about it. All the staff with whom we interacted were very friendly.

“Small so-so rooms but friendly and helpful staff”

This hotel was sufficient for a night's stay, although the rooms were very small. The front desk person was really nice each time we saw her. Our pillow cases seemed to have some marks on them (not sure if they were just stains or unwashed) so we requested two new sets of them for the beds. The housekeeper had no problem accommodating us. Our other issue was that the toilet had almost no pull when it flushed. The breakfast was just okay. The only hot item they had were waffles. The rest were what you would expect for a continental breakfast - cereal, juice, muffins, bread for toasting, coffee. The price was right ($70) and I would consider staying here again if I was looking for a budget hotel. Otherwise, I think I might look elsewhere for something a little nicer. No big complaints, but it was just an average experience.

“Brought my dog to this pet family hotel and that I was being treated like a dog.”

This has been the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. First of all they keep all the customers that have dogs in the same couple of rooms on the first floor over and over. Needless to say my daughter’s socks were completely black at the bottom with dirt within 5 minutes of running around the room! I guess it is a good thing for the hotel that the carpet is a dark color.....better to hide stains. We did not walk around the room without shoes shortly after. The floors also smelled like dog before I even got my dog out of the car and brought him into the room. I was thinking about going to get carpet fresh but thought it was only a couple of days. The room was very dark and had a wet basement feel to it which was also unsettling. I definitely did not feel I was on vacation....and it is sad because Charlotte is a awesome place. I was sad to go back to the hotel every night I was there. Never again will I stay at this place.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay. Yes, we do place our pet friendly rooms on the ground floor. Our guest's have told us that it is more convienent for them to go out the doors of the hotel without having to take their pets on the elevators. It also places them closer to the back of the hotel where our pet station is located, and where their pets can stretch their legs. For our non-pet guests, they can be assured that we have made the attempt to make sure their room has not been occupied by a pet, for allergy purposes, by designating an area for our pets. As for the carpet, we do follow a routine carpet shampooing of all of our rooms. I did not see any notes about any of our rooms reporting a carpet issue. Please let any hotel know of any issues you may experience because all hotels would want to know about the issues so they can correct immediately. In your case, we could have moved you to another room, one that had just been recently shampood in our rotation, so your kids could run around the room and you would have been happier the multiple nights you stayed. Remember at La Quinta, we are here for you!

“Great Pet friendly stay”

We arrived late in the evening and the front desk was very kind & willing to help. Our request for top floor was fulfilled. Had our room keys and check in ready when we arrived The room was new & fresh & very roomy Very comfortable bed. Older TV but worked fine. The one "not so positive" we noticed was the area. The only thing close by was a very busy small gas station and a Waffle House (with TERRIBLE staff). Cops were dealing with some issue at the gas station when we stopped for a soda,,, then later, cops were at the Waffle House when we walked over for take out. It did not affect our stay. Comfortable and quiet and just what we needed to continue our trip refreshed.

“Very depressing, dirty hotel”

I stayed here (to be near the airport) because the website said "newly renovated" rooms. Absolutely not true. When checked in, I was given the worst room in the house - down a long hallway that wreaked of smoke. The room was in a corner, was dirty, the window was tiny and the lights are old plastic and are yellowed so much that the room was too dark to read. The heating system was extremely loud. I went to the lobby and the young woman at the counter had great customer service skills and gave me another room. Unfortunately, this room was dirty also - the blanket had obvious stains on it and was covered by another coverlet. Disgusting. The breakfast area was untidy and dirty as well. The *only* good thing about this La Quinta was the night clerk - who should be working at a nice Westin downtown, not in this dump. I will never stay in a La Quinta again.

I am sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I would want to know if you spoke with our staff about your experience, as this is not what we expected to hear, and we would like to take action prior to your departure to assure your satisfaction. Our guest room package is called the Vibrant package, and all our rooms have 6 separate light bulbs (using green energy light bulbs) all about the room to brighten your stay. Our bed coverlets are brand new this year, and our room renovation was completed 3 years ago. We thank you again for your comments.
