“Odd but pleasant if one is not exacting!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

Lots of positives, but a bit odd, as the first thing I noticed on entering the room was white stains on the carpet (they didn't come off - so, no fault of housekeeping!), and black scuff marks on the wall - a lot of grouting in the bathroom and very inefficient a/c, that remained humid and not too effective even when set at 68 -- I keep my house at 78 - and didn't think it got close to the set rate, so I think the thermometer was not very accurate). On the plus side - everyone at the desk, especially Mike - was very helpful and attentive; breakfast was good; the pool was pleasant; the rate was reasonable, the computers available (business center) were obvious and accessible, there were washers and dryers and I appreciated the exercise room. Seemed to be many frequent stayers (US Air uses it for its crews). The location is good and the soundproofing between rooms is very good (I heard the neighbors' TV from the hall - but NOT from my room! A big plus). So - if a bit of clean wear-and-tear doesn't bother you and you get a low rate - this is a good bet.

“Clean and comfy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2009

I had a room with one King-size bed. I had just stayed the previous 2 nights in High Point in a hotel that hadn't been updated since the 70's so for the price I paid I was not expecting such a nice room! A very pleasant surprise! It was roomy and very clean with a super-comfy bed. The bedding and decor are up-to-date. Cracker Barrel is literally next door. I needed a shuttle ride to to airport at 5am and the driver was waiting in the lobby with the front desk guy, encouraging me and the other lady going to the airport to grab the free breakfast before we went. They were wide awake and way friendlier than I could ever be if I had those working hours! I would stay here again!

“Enjoyed my stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2009

Decided to stay here instead of the expensive Hilton down the road where my meeting was being held. Not only saved money but my stay included a great breakfast. I did notice that the rate dropped after I made my reservation, so I complained to night auditor who did adjust my rate. I would recommend checking your reservation a day or two before arrival to see if a lower rate pops up.

“Good hotel, Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2009

Stayed here June 5, 2009 for one night on rewards points from Choice Hotels. The hotel is in a good business park area, right off I-77, and within easy driving distance to many restaurants and the South Park Mall (also, walking distance if you needed to to a Chili's). The rooms were comfortable and exactly what you would expect from the Quality Inn chain. Nothing fancy, but perfectly suitable. Microfridge in room a nice bonus. Wireless internet worked great.

The continental breakfast is good and includes all the usuals plus hot sausage and eggs, a nice addition to the usual offerings. There is a fitness center (unadvertised) on the 2nd floor with room-key access...small but very nice equipment.

The only problem we had was with the service on our arrival afternoon. It was warm and sunny, but for some reason the pool area was locked. Asked at the front desk if it was supposed to be closed. The woman working the front desk seemed put out by having to turn away from the TV to talk to me. She contacted someone in the back and said they would be right out to open it. Waited about 10 minutes and no one came. Went back in and asked again and was poited to the man who was supposed to come open it. He was just chatting with someone else and also seemed upset that I had a simple request. After waiting another 10 minutes or so, someone else finally showed up to open the pool.

Other than that, everything was perfectly fine. The woman working the front desk the next morning was much more friendly and very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

“Delayed at airport - welcome stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2009

I missed my flight and was given a $55 voucher for this property. It's about 15 min. from the airport and they had a shuttle that took us and brought us back in the AM. The guy that checked our van in was friendly and efficient, dealing with the stress well. My only fault with him was that he mentioned everyone's room number, loud enough for everyone to hear. I asked him not to announce mine and he respected my wishes. He signed me up for the 5:30AM shuttle and asked if I'd like a wake-up call. The room was surprisingly big and very comfortable. At 1AM (when I got in) the tv next door to me was quite loud but I made a quick call to the guest and he turned the volume down. I was on the first floor and heard a lot of folks going to the elevator but it wasn't too bad. Where I was super impressed was that the breakfast buffet didn't start until 6am but the same front desk guy knowing that a bunch of cranky passengers were on the 5:30 shuttle had breakfast ready around 5:15 for us. It was a well-appreciated touch.
