Our experience with this property was just fine. The 3 of us are 6 feet and over so it was nice to have 3 separate beds (2 beds and a pull out). I would agree with other reviewers that the hotel needs to start updating (carpet, etc.). Also, the design of the room is a bit quirky (with the TV situated in between the living area and the bedroom area). But overall for us everything was clean, the staff was friendly, our room preference was accommodated, and they let us check in a bit early. Also, the location close to the university was very good.

My family and I stayed here for the Mid-Atlantic Music Conference October 6th-October 8th, 2011. The room was a nice size but was a bit dated and was not as tidy as I would have liked. The staff seemed friendly and accomodating during our stay. Overall it was just a o.k. hotel.....nothing spectactular.

My actual grade for the property is 3.5. There is nothing wrong with the property other than it has some age. The property needs to be updated and the rooms need a facelift. The rooms are the original layout of SpringHill Suites which are OK. My room was clean and the staff was polite.

The benefits of the property are you are close to UNCC and have dining and shopping options within a couple of miles. There is a Macaroni Grill within walking distance.

If I had paid $120 ++ a night, I would have been a bit disappointed. But, at $103 a night, I will stay again.

I do a lot of research before booking a hotel for my family to stay at and must say I was disappointed in this stay. While the room layout was very functional for families with children; I loved the seperate sitting, wet bar area, I was very concerned with the general cleanliness of the room. The carpet was filthy, I cringed whenever anything was dropped on the floor and my daughter had dirty feet after walking around barefooted. The walls were dirty and the bathtub had a constant drip. There were two small greasy handprints on the television screen when we arrived that I had to clean myself. The couch was old and the cushions sank toward the back. The furniture is that old burgandy, forest green combo that was popular 15 years ago which I assume is original to when the hotel was built. We were in the room when housekeeping arrived so I guess so felt she didn't need to freshen the room, we were handed clean towels and the trash was emptied and that was it, then she had me initial a paper. I had to take the dirty towels out of the room myself and not once were the beds made. All in all I will not be staying at this particular hotel again but I did like the Springhill Suites brand and will stay at their other properties.
