“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

My husband and I stayed here over Christmas weekend while visiting family in the area. We had our dog with us so we picked this hotel because it is pet friendly. We were worried that the room would smell of past dogs and be very dirty, but we were pleasantly surprised! It was very clean and we had a great room on the lower floor so it was easy to take our dog out for walks. We would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to other pet owners!

“Avoid this place if you have an alternative”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

This hotel is well outside of downtown Charlotte. I only stayed here because I could not find a room anywhere else in Charlotte. (Remember to book a week in advance.) The hotel was clean but everything inside the room of the flimsiest quality and lowest grade. The furniture was worn and uncomfortable. Further, many of the rooms face I-485 and are extraordinarily noisy from the 18 wheelers barreling down the highway all night. ( The Interstate cannot be more than 300 feet from the room I stayed in). At $185 per night, the place was not worth it.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing Interstate 485, particularly rooms on the second floor or above.

“Average quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Good location next to shopping center and highway. Good size rooms. Common areas (hallways, pool, entrance) are not kept very clean (abandoned carts, cigarette butts, etc. give a slightly unkempt appearance). Breakfast is average, and is served in styrofoam plates, bowles, and plastic knives and forks, consequently there are many trash bags full of plastic stuff that is discarded everyday; not great to eat out of and not good for the environment!

Room Tip: Two bedroom rooms do not show up on Mariott's web site; you need to call them.

“Clean, friendly but a little out dated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Stayed at this hotel in October, was welcomed by friendly staff and advised there was a free pasta night serving beer and wine that evening I could attend if I wanted to.

Had a comfortable stay at this hotel, the room was huge and had a lounge, kitchen (with a full sized American fridge and dishwasher), 46inch LCD TV, king sized bed and bath/shower. The room was a bit dated but still clean and comfortable. The beds were nice and there was a good selection of pillows. The AC had a mind of its own, I couldn't get it to reduce down in temperature to my preference so ended up turning it off and opening the windows.

When I arrived I wanted to use the pool, however even though it was a nice day around 77 degrees as it was October it was classed out of season so it was closed. The gym was ok, bit small but had enough in there for a quick workout.

Breakfast was nice, reasonable selection of food included in the price. There is also a small business area you can use with a computer and printer.

Although I only stayed for 1 night there didn't appear to be much to do nearby the hotel, so I headed into the main centre which took 20 mins by car.

Down sides

• No Wifi
• Bit dated
• Noisy AC and appliances in the room
• No shower gels

Positives

• Good value
• Big rooms
• Free breakfast
• Free internet via a cable
• Free parking
• Free business centre
• Free gym

“Like an apartment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

I've tried several longstays in Southern Charlotte but this one if one that really replaces my own apartment - spacious, very clean, well maintained, good furniture and kitchen, utensils of good quality. Also reception staff reliable for taking parcels and help out. The only thing I really miss is a safe in the room but I get along with the one in reception area. - Staying here for a month and might extend. - Btw, very attractive monthly rate

Room Tip: Outside rooms face trees (and sun) but also the I485; inside rooms might be quieter but view not so...
