“Microtel, good idea but too expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2009

Clean with a bad attitude at the front desk. It seemed as if he was giving me permission to stay. So I regarded the check in process rude and not very pleasant. When I first stayed at a Microtel 9 year ago I found them clean and just the right size and price for an overnight stay while traveling by roadway. As time has gone by the cleanliness has stayed excellent but I have noticed the price has been climbing steadily without an increase in quality etc...

“Great place for the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2008

This is a nice little hotel for the money. Nothing fancy, but clean and sufficient for our needs. We paid only $46.75 (AAA rate) a night. We recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't need lots of amenities - just a clean bed and room to sleep in at a very reasonable price.

“Worst hotel stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2007

We had two connecting rooms with six adults. First night we found a tick in one of the beds. Room dirty, bathroom floors sticky, make up on pillowcase that was not ours. After eating the continental breakfast the first morning, we came back to the hotel about noon and found a hampster cage sitting on the breakfast bar after the breakfast was cleared away. Maid did not replenish coffee or bathroom items for our second night stay. Ran out of toilet paper. Second morning there was cockroaches crawling on the shower curtain in one room. All weekend long the parking lot was overtaken by a very large group of bikers who blocked off half the parking lot with orange cones, played music very loudly and blocked parking lot with there motorcycles and would not let cars through. ( I used to ride motorcycles in the past so I do not have bikerphobia). Hotel did not seem to control this situation at all. When we complained about these problems, especially the bugs, nothing was really said and they did not act very apologetic. We called customer service with no satisfaction either.

“Very nice!”

This motel was very nice for the money. It was very clean and the staff was helpful and considerate. Since it isn't directly on a main highway, it is quieter than other motels in the same area.

“Pleasant - excellent value”

The Microtel Inn (off I-77 - Sunset Rd) says that it is the newest hotel at the interchange. I mistakenly assumed it was a year or two old, its apparently been around much longer. This being said, the age of the hotel is / was not an issue.

The hotel has free hard wire high speed internet (which is what I was looking for) and it really works well.

When it comes to what matters, the hotel was perfect.

I would not have known that the hotel wasn't only a year or two old had I not asked.

There isn't a great deal of dining, shopping, entertainment, etc. at this interchange however there is plenty a few interchanges up on I-77 (where there are much newer - much more expensive places to stay).

If you're looking for an economical place to stay that is clean and has free high speed internet, this isn't a bad choice.
