My husband and I stayed for two nights when we were in town for a wedding. The room was okay, everything a little dated and the bed was way too soft (but that is my opinion). The carpet and bed sheets need replacement, the towels were fine. The bathroom looked newly renovated, a fact that really cheered me up when I looked through the room the first time - until I found the worn thong behind the door. So I guess cleaning needs improvement!

The other guests staying in the hotel were a little creepy, most of them sitting in their rooms on the beds watching tv with the doors open looking at you when you walk by (?!?).

So, all in all, it is okay if you need to stay in this exact area of the city and do not want to spend more than 50 USD/night because you spent too much on pricey VA B&Bs during the week before. If one of the points above does not apply, I would not recommend it. I am surprised that it gets quite okay reviews here...

We only stayed for a few nights but would stay again if visiting the area. The reception staff were very helpful, efficient service and very welcoming. The room was clean and nicely decorated, the facilities were all functional. The location of the hotel was great as it was close to the freeway and other amenities but not too close so it was nice and quiet. We would recommend this hotel to other travellers looking for a decent hotel to stay in whilst in the Charlotte area.

I was in the Charlotte area for a few months and stayed at a couple of the extended stay hotels.This was the best of the bunch. The staff was very professional. It seemed to be in a safe area. I parked in the back and the parking lot was very well lit. A short walking distance to Chinese,Spanish,Indian and European grocery shops.Only con was the room was a little small but not bad.

We chose the Suburban Extended Stay Charlotte-Pineville for its location. Our daughter was due to deliver twins at the nearby Carolinas Medical Center - Pineville and this motel was an easy 2 minute drive from there.

We reserved our room at the motel online and asked for a quiet room on the first floor. Upon arrival, that was exactly what was awaiting us. As the name infers, our room was designed for an extended stay. In addition to the bed(s) and bathroom, it contained a small kitchen with a sink, microwave and mini-fridge. It was also equipped with sufficient cooking and eating untinsels so we could prepare simple meals. It also had a small kitchen table and two chairs. Very nice.

The manager mentioned that they had just finished refurbishing the motel and it looked it. We had new beds, bedspreads, carpeting and tile, etc. Very nice.

Maybe the best part of our stay was the staff. We found them to be very, very helpful. For example, our bathroom lacked a place to hang clothes while showering and one of the chair backs in our room was broken. One mention of this to the staff and we found a new set of hooks in our bathroom and a replacement chair upon our return to the room later that day.

Another example: I was having difficulty connecting to the internet from my laptop. The hotel had installed not one but SIX wireless networks around the motel but I could not access any of them. One of the staff came to our room to help solve this problem. He quickly identified the problem as my 5-year-old laptop (a dinosaur in computer-years) and diplomatically informed me that my wireless card was several generations behind the times. However, he volunteered to have the motel buy (as an investment) a USB adaptor that they then would loan to me so I could get online. Upon learning that my laptop needed serious help, I asked him to buy one for me as well. I gave him the money and within hours he installed the software, plugged in the adaptor and I was online. That is what I call exceptional service!

In conclusion, if you are looking for a clean, quiet place to stay that is close to shopping and other services (but not too close), and has a super staff, I highly recommend this motel. I refrained from giving it my top score only because it is not the Marriott but it still met our needs very nicely.
