First, I paid higher than the price quoted on Orbitz which according to the local cab driver was triple the normal cost of the rooms. The rooms were right out of a bad 70's pimp flick and looked like they might be rented by the hour. We were lucky enough to stay in the mirrored suite. The walk-in shower covered in mirrors and included a table had red and blue light in the ceiling. The two shower heads didn't have enough water pressure to equal one good one. The bed with mirrors over it and on the walls was covered with cheap rose petals and a funky heart shaped pillow and came complete with a red light over the bed. When we looked in the cabinet where the microwave was kept there were about 5 or 6 porn magazines. The newest equipment was a stereo in the room. We were on the second floor of the Inn and when it rained the carpet in front of the door got soaked.
After hailing a cab from an evening sports event when we told the driver were we were going he reponded "oh man, just my luck!" and refused to turn in to the hotel parking lot and dropped us off at the lot adjacent to the hotel. We asked a local about safety in walking to some the the events and she responded that normally it wouldn't be safe but because of the games police presence was heightened in that area and the normal criminals knew to stay away! Upon return to our room there was a man a few doors down and was scratching like he was coming down off of drugs and asked us if we "had anything".
I had to put something over a spot on the sheet the first night and the next day pulled them off completed and pour water on them to ensure they would be changed. I also bought spray bleach and lysol for the walk in shower and some of what I though was just tile marks rinsed down the drain! The pictures on the web site must be at least 20 years old or the rooms have seen a lot of use.
It was in walking distance to the Uptown Cabaret which I found out was a strip club so there was local entertainment. Getting food however was another issue as there were no restaurants locally that stayed open late and no local shopping. Overall it served its purpose and we had some good laughs about it; hey maybe if there is a next time I will try one of the heart shaped jacuzzi rooms; but I'd rather think that I won't make the mistake of booking my hotel late when I need to come to the area next time.
