Although located right in the heart of the city of Charlotte, this Inn was situated in a lovely and private neighborhood. There were 100 year old oak trees lining the streets and plenty of sidewalks to stroll on. We were so close to many of Charlotte's great attractions, but we felt like we were far from a big noisy city.
We checked in to the B&B on Sunday evening. The grounds were well kept, with fountains, winding brick paths, shaded areas which would have been perfect for curlig up with a good book, and there was even a friendly cat napping on a nearby bench.
The Inn was in great condition. We felt like we were staying with old friends. We were greeted right away and given a quick tour of the surroundings. We stayed in the Mt. Vernon suite and absolutely loved it. The king sized sleigh bed was delicious! The room was spacious and equipped with all the modern conveniences of home. We only wish we could have used the fire place! Maybe this winter?
Breakfast was amazing. Carolyn took such good care of us, and we had so many items to choose from. I was surprised by the quality of the smoked cheeses and the freshness of the fruit plate. I was expecting packaged muffins and canned coffee, but oh my.... We were lavished with gourmet coffee and homeade waffles.
We plan to return in September with friends. We can't wait.
We definitely recommend The Morehead Inn to all who love a good B&B.
