“One night in the3 Morehead Inn made us wish we could be there for weeks.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010

After a long, snowy drive from our first stop in the mountains of Virginia, the Morehead Inn was a delight to us. Our suite, conveniently located on the first floor, was a sunny, comfortable "Florida" style room filled with comfortable chairs and sofas and a wall of windows designed to make Oscar the Grouch feel cheerful. We had a restful night in an extremely comfortable and roomy bed followed by a wonderful southern breakfast. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating and made us feel at home. The Morehead Inn is a B&B we'd be happy to revisit.

“Charming!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

I stayed at the Morehead Inn for just a night and I regret it wasn't for longer. The Inn is simply charming and a delight to stay in. Darren and Carolyn went out of their way to make certain I felt at home. They treated me wonderfully. The breakfast is delicious and the neighborhood the Inn is located is beautiful. Would certainly recommend this to others.

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

I only stayed here 1 night, but wish it could have been longer. It was super quiet. If I hadn't seen the other guests, I wouldn't have guessed there were other people staying there. Our room was very comfortable. We stayed in the Romany room which had a seating/lounge area with two small couches and a desk. There was a DVD player, but the TV was a bit small. The staff was very pleasant and showed good customer service. I would definitely stay here again.

“Charming and welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

Although located right in the heart of the city of Charlotte, this Inn was situated in a lovely and private neighborhood. There were 100 year old oak trees lining the streets and plenty of sidewalks to stroll on. We were so close to many of Charlotte's great attractions, but we felt like we were far from a big noisy city.

We checked in to the B&B on Sunday evening. The grounds were well kept, with fountains, winding brick paths, shaded areas which would have been perfect for curlig up with a good book, and there was even a friendly cat napping on a nearby bench.

The Inn was in great condition. We felt like we were staying with old friends. We were greeted right away and given a quick tour of the surroundings. We stayed in the Mt. Vernon suite and absolutely loved it. The king sized sleigh bed was delicious! The room was spacious and equipped with all the modern conveniences of home. We only wish we could have used the fire place! Maybe this winter?

Breakfast was amazing. Carolyn took such good care of us, and we had so many items to choose from. I was surprised by the quality of the smoked cheeses and the freshness of the fruit plate. I was expecting packaged muffins and canned coffee, but oh my.... We were lavished with gourmet coffee and homeade waffles.

We plan to return in September with friends. We can't wait.

We definitely recommend The Morehead Inn to all who love a good B&B.

“One of the finest Inns in the South, outstanding reputation, excellent cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

I rarely fill out reviews, but I feel compelled to tell you about this charming southern historic gem right in the middle of a metropolitan city. I have traveled extensively and stayed in B&B's several times before, but this one takes the cake. It's like stepping into a real 'old south' romance novel---but with a flat panel tv in the room. It's incredibly clean, great staff, wonderful antiques, and the food is outstanding. I have never slept so well when traveling as I did at the Morehead Inn. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
