“A Birthday weekend with my Parents.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

The Morehead Inn is simply a magical escape from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world tucked into a tree-lined street close to downtown Charlotte. My parents came to visit for my birthday and I knew the Morehead Inn was the only place I wanted them to be. Each staff member acted like the Morehead Inn was their personal home welcoming both my parents and myself to the inn. Not only do they want you to feel comfortable while staying at the Inn but also they go out of their way to make sure each guest and non-guest has everything they need to feel like home. I was so impressed with everything about the Morehead inn I plan on staying there myself, for a weekend get away, and I only live 5 minutes away!

Room Tip: Each room is so different, that you really need to try everyone. The staff will go out of their way...

“Very quiet getaway close to downtown Charlotte”

My husband and I stayed at the Morehead Inn following a business trip to Charlotte.
It's a beautiful old building that has some great rooms. We stayed in the Kingston room.
It was separate from the main building, had it's own private entrance and was really nice and quiet, despite a wedding party that was also staying at the inn. We had a good night's sleep.
Breakfast was very good the next morning. We highly recommend this inn.

“Southern charm with elegance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

We spent four nights at the Morehead Inn (Berkeley Room) and wished we could have stayed longer... our room was beautifully appointed and lovingly cared for. We enjoyed the beauty of the public rooms as well as the courteous hospitality granted to us by all personnel, especially Miss Carolyn. The historic district of Dilworth was a joy to take evening walks in, and, did I mention the BREAKFASTS? I went to bed the night before anticipating the next morning's fare (my choice of many menu items every day!). All in all and compared with many B&Bs we've stayed in, this one is TOPS...every other property will pale in comparison.

“beautiful hotel in a beautiful city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

My husband and I were on a road trip through the South and Charlotte was our first stop. We had dinner in Raleigh after a day of travelling and so did not get to the Inn until very late - 10pm. We called them to let them know we were on our way and they were very accommodating and assured us that our late arrival would be no problem. The resident manager - I can't remember her name but she was the Irish woman living on the property - was very charming and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, offering us bottles of water before we went up to our room the final time. We stayed in the Dilworth which was beautiful - huge, comfortable bed and a luxe if small bathroom with a skylight. We were also able to enjoy a few quiet moments on the balcony before bed. The breakfast was delicious - the banana bread was so yummy - and the woman waiting on us (who was also working on the front desk) was friendly but not overly pushy. We were then able to get a map from the front desk on check out to explore Charlotte - only a couple of minutes away, though the neighborhood Dilworth seems like its own oasis away from it - which ended up becoming our favorite stop on the trip. Disappointed we didn't get to rent the bikes offered by the front desk - but next time! Would definitely recommend for anyone staying in Charlotte.

“Gracious hospitality close to downtown + Dilworth neighborhood.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

An incredibly comfortable and elegant inn located in the Dilworth neighborhood with its variety of restaurants and a five-minute drive from downtown Tryon St. Spacious common areas and rooms. The hosts were very helpful, welcoming, and friendly without being invasive. There is a choice of breakfast menus, and the food was prepared by a skilled chef who took the time to get things right: homemade scone, light waffles with a house fruit compote that was tastier than syrup, perfect bacon.
