“Air Not working”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

This hotel was so hot and Air did not work properly in these rooms. Air came on in my room but never cooled the room. I asked if i could go to another room and in one of the rooms the air unit did not work when i turned it on and the other room I turned the air on and it immediatly went back off.. The hotel lobby was even warm. I ended up going home on what would have been a relaxing time for me. They did however were very nice about it and refunded my money back. Did not speak to manager by front desk clerk. Very friendly. SOrry but i would not come back

“Extremely helpful and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

My husband & I stayed at this hotel because of the price, location, and our need for a refrigerator in the room. We were in Charlotte for medical purposes. On the day of our check-in, the medical appointment went quicker than anticipated. We went to the hotel to ask if we might be able to check in early. The front desk clerk was friendly and pleasant. She told us she would need to check with housekeeping to see if a room was available, which it was. This room smelled of smoke, though it was a non-smoking room. (Yes, there are folks who will smoke in a no smoking room, unfortunately. Those of us who are allergic to smoke notice this immediately!) Despite our early check-in request, and then asking to change rooms, this front desk employee continued to be friendly and helpful. Our second room was fine; clean and fresh-smelling. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the refrigerator; it was larger than most, including a decent-sized freezer. The room met all our needs, except that the bed was a bit hard for me. (I need a softer mattress, though my husband was fine.)The next day, my husband had an early medical appointment in which he received anethesia. We came back to the hotel for him to sleep a little prior to check-out, but he became very sick from the medication. I went to the front desk to ask for a later checkout and this new clerk was just as helpful and friendly as the young lady from the previous day. He not only gave us a later checkout, but when I called the doctor to get a prescription for my husband's nausea, this clerk helped me find the closest pharmacy. (He even printed off directions for me to take along, which was a great service!) We will stay in this hotel again, when we return to Charlotte. It was quiet & clean, the breakfast was excellent (even included yoghurt & fresh fruit), and the pool looked nice, though we were unable to use it. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to other travellers.

“One of the worst experiences at a hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

Where do I begin? First off, they dont even have the type of room that we had reserved. We had reserved a two bedroom suite, one with a king bed and the other with a double bed. Not just a sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa mattress and springs should have been replaced years ago. Key cards kept having to be reactivated. We were treated unhospitably when we asked for a remote control for the second tv in the room. When my daughter was trying to make her own waffle from the contenental breakfast, she was being rushed by the housekeeping staff so that they could make their own waffles to eat. My family and I do a lot of traveling and stay in a lot of hotels and this has to be in the top 5 worst experiences that we have had.

“Good Hotel - Poor Shuttle experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

This hotel is clean, convenient, and staffed with friendly, courteous employees. Nevertheless, when I arrived at the airport I called the hotel for shuttle pickup as they advertised. After about a half hour after I placed the call, I called again just to make sure I was at the proper pickup point. I was assured that I was and that the shuttle would arrive at any minute. To make a long story short, I waited over an hour and a half for the shuttle to arrive despite another call to verify that they were on the way. If they had only been kind enough to offer to call me on my cell phone when they ere on the way, I wouldn't have had to wait outside in 90 degree heat among exhaust and noise for the shuttle. I have forgiven them, but next time I'll take a cab! One other issue was that the room air conditioner in the room I occupied was very loud, especially on start-up.

“Not great.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

Stayed here one night because of a missed connection through Charlotte airport and would not voluntarily return.

Hotel is in serious need of modernization. The carpets and the fittings in the common areas of the hotel were pretty tattered and dirty and there was a very strong odor throughout.

The room itself was better than I would have thought considering my first impression of the inside of the hotel. The room was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable.

I would say that if you were trapped at the airport you could probably do worse but I would not want to bring my family.

I needed to send a couple of emails and the wireless internet was unusable inside my room so I had to use the pc in the lobby.

I think the house keeping staff are dong a better job than the owners of this hotel.
