“Wish the rooms were more soundproof”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This is a very nice clean hotel, however, do not get a room near the stairs because the door to the stairs is noisy when it is opened and closed. You can also hear the doors to the adjacent rooms opening and closing and the showers being used in the adjacent rooms. My room had a bathroom with a new walk in shower and a pocket door to the bathroom that you pull out for privacy. The sink was outside the bathroom. The room had a small clean refrigerator and clean microwave but no table for dining so I ate at the desk area. The light around the bed is an overhead florescent tube fixture and there are no table lamps on the bedside. There was a convenient electrical outlet near the bed for computer use and the internet was fast and I could stream netflix movies. The room is small but adequate.

“Decent, clean, budget hotel that gave me a new appreciation for nonsmoking hotels”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

My first impression of this hotel is that it was very clean and well maintained for a facility that had not undergone recent renovations. The room was clean, the carpet was not sticky, the bed was comfy, and the shower was hot with good pressure. The wifi worked, the room was spacious with a neat layout, and the staff was friendly. There was a shower stall instead of a bathtub in my king room, which I found to be pleasant since I rarely take baths at hotels.

The only two problems I had started when a person checked into the room above me around 8pm. I know about when they got to their room because from the moment they walked in the door, there was very loud creaking in the ceiling. Fortunately most people spend the entire night/evening sitting on the bed, so it wasn't as bad as it could be. However, I could see how someone would be very annoyed if they were trying to sleep inn (haha) and the person above them had to catch a 6 am flight. The more important issue was that I was in a nonsmoking room, but I am guessing that the person above me was in a smoking room. I was in my room for a couple of hours and there was no smoke smell at all, but about half of an hour after I heard my neighbor enter the room above me I started smelling cigarette smoke - almost as if someone were smoking in the room with me.

After having this experience, I might stay here again if I was in the area and the price was right or I might not. The room was fine, but I really disliked the smoking issue - which is why I selected a nonsmoking room. I would first attempt to find a completely non-smoking hotel or similar quality in the same price range, and if I could not then I might stay here again.

Room Tip: I would ask to be put in a room as far away as possible from occupied smoking rooms.

Stayed here for an early morning flight out of Charlotte so we could leave the car at the hotel. Staff was nice and the room was clean and wonderful! Great hotel, and will stay here again next flight out of Charlotte.

“can't think of anything I didn't like”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

I stayed at this property one night because I missed a flight connection at the Charlotte airport.

The room was just fine--nice pillows, good hot water in the shower, free Wi-fi in the room, flat-panel television, clock-radio by the bed.

Front desk staff was courteous as were the van drivers from and to the airport.

It struck me I could not think of a single thing I didn't like about my one-night stay. Not a single thing to possibly complain about.

There are lots of more expensive hotels who could learn something from the operation of this hotel.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

I always stay at this hotel when i come up for business from Atlanta. Its close to the airport and the staff is always amazing. Rooms are well maintained and I have never had a problem with my room. The free wifi and breakfast only makes the stay even better. I definitely sugest this anyone looking for an affordable stay with friendly service!
