We stayed at this hotel on our way back home from Florida. We went through an internet website to reserve this room, so it was sight unseen. We had no idea what kind of room we would be getting. The area surrounding the motel seems to be blighted. Many of the stores were boarded up or closed. The lawn was well manicured but the walkways and breezeways were littered with cigarette butts and broken beer bottles.

As we took our belongings up to the room, we passed by a man who was casually rolling a joint. He politely told us that he meant no disrespect. I thought to myself that if the guy really had respect he would have done the dirty deed inside the room with the door closed. Instead, my 13 year old daughter was exposed to this activity. There were other rooms that had their doors open and were openly drinking, smoking, and heaven knows what else.

We had specifically requested a smoking room, but the desk clerk gave us a non-smoking room anyway and told us "not to worry about it". I didn't feel right smoking in this room because there are people that have a serious aversion to the lingering odor of cigarette smoke...so I didn't smoke inside the room. This was a big inconvenience to me. When we went into the bathroom we noticed that there was hair on the walls of the tub and inside of the tub. The tub itself looked like it hadn't been scrubbed for quite sometime. The baseboards had an inch of dust covering them. The door looked like someone had thrown a drink at it by the appearance of the drips and the coffee maker was also dusty. The microwave didn't have the rotating plate and in order to use it, you had to unplug the refrigerator. The beds looked like they had been neatly made, but after seeing the rest of the room...I wondered if the sheets had been changed *before* making the beds.

There was also the issue of one phone instruction card indicating that $1.00 would be charged for each toll free number, but another instruction card (placed beside the remote control) that stated that toll free numbers were free. We weren't charged on check out...but I'll be watching my statements carefully. My suggestion is to pay a few extra bucks and stay away from this place. It's only a good place if you've drank WAY too much and have no other choice. It's not the type of place that a person could truely relax and know that their car or their room would be safe.
