My wife and I booked a room IN DECEMBER for the UNC Duke game on Feb 8. We arrive at the hotel at 5pm and are told that our room has been given away as the hotel has been overbooked. How in the hell, when we booked in Dec, did WE get bumped? Management was NOT apologetic at all, they didnt even bother to call us ahead of time to let us know that the hotel room had been given away (apparently to another guest who offered to pay more) and simply shuttled us off to another location NINE miles away in Apex. This ruined our trip and, to add insult to injury, they had NOT booked us a room at the other property (which they told us they had). My wife and I travel a lot on business and this will be unequivocally the LAST time we stay at a Marriott, period. This location in particular has a terrible attitude towards its guests, and their business model is deporable.
Screw the Chapel Hill Marriott, and they just lost two customers for life.
