We reserved our room through our credit card's point/cash system so it was prepaid. When we arrived at the hotel, there were no cars in the parking lot, so I assumed that we were arriving earlier than most. At the front desk, I was asked for my credit card to pay for the room, but I told the clerk that it was prepaid and showed him the receipt. He said okay, but was a little hesitant. We were given a room that was not on the main corridor and right beside the elevator (room 201). It was way too loud, so we called down and asked for a new room. He called back 10 min later and asked us if we minded a "handicapped" room. It was on the first floor down a hallway without any other guest rooms. It was a standard king room with fridge and microwave - overall the room was quite nice, except the wireless never really worked. AND it was beside the laundry room and we were awakened by the dryer being turned on/off throughout the night. In the morning, I found a bill under our door with the balance for the room amount - not $0.00. At the front desk, I was told that is how they did it so your credit card didn't show on the bill. What?!? I've stayed in many hotel rooms, and you always want a bill showing $0 as the balance. I had to repeatedly ask her for a receipt showing $0, but when she finally did it, it showed an American Xpress number (not my credit card). When I told her about our room, she was surprised that the previous clerk didn't ask us if we wouldn't mind a double/double instead of a King. So overall, it wasn't bad, but given the choices in the area, I won't stay there again. I fear that we were treated like that because it was a prepaid room.
