“Built in 1989 and you can tell it has some age on it but OK stay overall...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Hotel was completed in June or July of 1989 according to the elevator certificate. You can tell is has some age on it. While the rooms were remolded they only did what I consider a slight remodel of the bathroom. They seem to have added a new vanity but the tub/shower was orginal and terribly dated as was the wallpaper. The bathroom just had an old 1989 feel to it (minus the granite vanity). The entry door as well as the bathroom door had many, many layers of paint on it and looked dated. Further, I booked a double thinking the room would be slightly larger but was mistaken. Felt the room was smaller that I expected. Moreover, the room was clean (although the shower/tub was so old and was clean it just seemed dirty b/c it had random marks on it that simply come with age and are probably there to stay). The staff was friendly and the location is practical. There is an O'Charley's in front of the property and a Lucky 32 nearby. Fitness room is nice with a fair amount of room. In brief, I had never stayed at this property and felt like it should have been nicer. Can't fully put my finger on it but it just felt dated.

Room Tip: Be sure to call ahead if you want a top floor room.

Hi Pezks,

Thanks so much for your feedback. We do appreciate it, as we like to know how each guest viewed their stay.

I'm sorry that you felt your stay was not up to par. However, I do have some good news. We are planning for a lobby/kitchen renovation in Q4 of this year and for a full hotel renovation next year.

We do appreciate you highlighting some of our strengths as well, like our service, great location, and spacious fitness center. We are excited about the upcoming changes we have in store. We also hope that you will come back to see us, as we can't wait to show off some of these changes!

“Always a Great place to stay when in area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I love this hampton Inn, When working in the area, I try and stay there because the Staff is ALWAYS SO FRIENDLY &,HELPFUL. Needless to say this visit was GREAT!! Only suggestion I may have is that for the Breakfast that they go back to the bowl of Fresh fruit with Melons, Grapes, Pineapple. I don't care for the little Fruit Cups they offer now, ONLY complaint. Keep up the Great Job Hampton Staff!!!

Thanks, ChrissysBluMoon! We definitely appreciate the compliments and your great feedback!

I understand that we do have whole fruit as a breakfast option here but that you would like a variety of sliced fruit.

Well, we are very happy to say that later in the year we will be undergoing a renovation to the lobby area including a full kitchen. This will allow us to have a full breakfast with alot more options of what we can serve with keeping in line with health codes. Stay tuned....

We hope to have you back whenever you visit the Cary area and look forward to showing off our new additions!

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I stay exclusively at Hampton/Hilton properties for business travel and was impressed with the value for my money at this Hampton. Front desk staff were welcoming to the comfortable hotel. Most Hamptons are the same, so the service makes them each stand out.

Thanks, Teufelist, for your response. We definitely appreciate the kind words and your loyalty to the Hampton and Hilton brand.

You're right in the fact that most Hamptons are the same across the brand. This helps the traveler know what to expect when they are staying at a Hampton. You touched on a few key facts that make Hampton/Hiltons great properties. We do have a great complimentary breakfast each day that provides our guests with a variety of options, whether they want something healthy, fast, or hot-we have it! We also have an award winning staff who loves to show off their "Hamptonality" at every chance they get!

Again, thanks for your feedback. We hope that you will stay with us whenever you return to the area, as we'd love to have you back!

“In Urgent Need Of Remodeling”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

I stayed here because it was close to my business meeting near Cary, but would not stay here again unless the hotel is updated. My first room reeked of cigarette smoke, which is a common problem in the Carolinas, even in non-smoking rooms. My second room just had an old, musty smell to it. Turning on the window heater/AC/fan unit pushed a nasty moldy smell into the room, and there was no way to open a window to let it escape. The carpet was worn & dirty, the funiture soiled, and the entire place screamed, "please remodel me!" I recommend avoidance of this property until it is updated.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Bukovitz, thank you for the feedback from your recent stay with us. We hate that our property didn't exceed your expectations.

Our property is not 100% smoke free, since we do offer a few designated smoking rooms to guests who prefer them. However, we go to great strides to ensure a smoke-free environment for all guests in non smoking rooms. If you felt that the area near your room smelled of smoke, we're very sorry.

We also have been complimented on our furniture decor and cleanliness, as we do have Hilton approved furniture in our rooms. However, I do know that soiling of the furniture can happen from time to time. We very much appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. Please know that the housekeeping staff are taking every necessary measure to take care of this when it happens.

Again, we appreciate the feedback but are sorry that we didn't exceed your expectations. After you try some of our neighbors, please give us another try. Compare the value and service you receive at Hampton vs. other brands. We're confident that we can win you back.
