This is an excellent facility in a nice location, close to several restaurants, shopping and the expressway. Our room was spotless and the staff was very friendly. If I am in the area in the future, I would be happy to spend the night here again. However...
When we checked in, we were asked if we would like to have breakfast in the morning. Normal cost is $10, but if you prepay the night before it is only $5 per person. My wife and I had already made other plans for breakfast, so we declined.
Two days later a charge for $10 appeared on my credit card. I thought perhaps I had been charged for using the internet or some other item. However, in the event that it was an error, I wanted to clear up the matter. I called the hotel and spoke with Tez. He said that the charge was for our breakfast. I explained to him that we had not eaten breakfast and he said that he would turn the matter over to his GM and that she would call me back on Monday. (I had called on Thursday). She did not call.
Two weeks later (after the holiday) I called again, and again spoke to Tez. He said the matter had been passed to their corporate office and that his GM was waiting to hear back. He said he would call me within a couple of days. When he did, he said that their records showed that only one of us had eaten breakfast, so the company would be refunding $5. I explained (again) that neither of us had eaten breakfast and that we had been together the entire morning. He said that he would relay that information to the corporate office and get back in touch with me.
Two days later he called, extending both his apologies and those of his general manager (who never did make that promised phone call) and said that the corporate office had authorized our $10 refund.
Granted, it was only $10 and Tez followed up persistently (once I made the second phone call) and in the long run we got our money back. However, the prepay charge should have never been made in the first place since I declined breakfast, the GM should have called even if to say that corporate was looking into it and the whole thing should have been cleared up in two days, not three weeks.
