“Great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2008

We visited Little River Golf Resort in December. The golf villas were terrific, 2 bedrooms, living room and fully equipped kitchen, large bathrooms. Great convienant location when visiting the Pinehurst area, on a beautiful golf course. We did eat in the clubhouse, which we liked very much. I'd go again, its very reasonable, friendly and a great home base to play golf there and other courses in the area.

“Loved the upgrades to the course!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2008

First time back in 2 years and the place looked great. The rooms are immaculate and cozy. Had drinks and dinner at the club house bar and my filet was very good.

Staff was very nice and accommodating. Golf was great. Tee boxes and landscaping were beautiful. I can see several upgrades on the course since my last visit.

I highly recommend Little River for a nice quiet get away. Plan on going back soon!

“Great for Golf Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2007

The four of us golfers stayed in their 2 bedroom condo, which included a nice kitchen and living room. We had come for a golf tournament. The course is in good shape and most of the golf staff were wonderful. We thought the Golf Manager was unfriendly, however. We loved the outdoor grill at the turn which made wonderful hot dogs/burgers in minutes. The condo has plenty of room with each person in their own Q bed. The 2 bathrooms were roomy as well. Two of us had arrived a day early and they let us pay the lowest rate for that first night, which was a pleasant surprise. The kitchen was great because it let us bring in cereal and snacks for happy hour. Their breakfast buffet is basic, with scrambled eggs and bacon, but good. Their dinner choices were also good, but we found that a crowd of any size can overwhelm their service and add 30 min to your dinner. Their bar had plenty of beer choices on tap and several wine choices by the glass, which is unusual in a golf bar. Several members of the LPGA stay here when they are playing at Pine Needles. It's only a few miles away to Southern Pines and Pinehurst.

“Needs Improvement in Customer Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2007

There is room for improvement. The condos are very nice, clean and roomy. The rates are reasonable. I wish their were numbers on the outside of the building so you could find them easier. I held a meeting at the facility and I am unsure if I'll use it again. The staff was average, when I needed something, there were no house phones, so I had to just go hunt someone down. They were attentive and helpful once you found them! My sales person never came to see me. The CSM...her visit was very brief and only once. The clubhouse itself is noisy! Doors slamming, people yelling, mowers outside of meeting room windows. The food was very mediocre. It seemed like everything was held under a heat lamp too long. The golf course looks beautiful, the landscaping is very nice. It probably is a wonderful place to come and relax. I do hope that they will improve, the place is fairly new! My suggestion would be to take a few minutes to observe the staff at Pinehurst or the Grandover...they are top notch!

“Little River Farm Resort, Great Golf-nice facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2007

Four of us (2 couples) travelled to golf in the Pinehurst, NC area April 17-22, 2007. We stayed at the Little River Farm Resort. It was as it looked on their website. We had a condo with 2 bedrooms (2 queen beds in each) and had our own bathroom and tv. The condo had a full kitchen - fridge had an icemaker, dishwasher, coffee pot, microwave, oven. There was a kitchen table and a living room area with a television, couch, chair, and coffee table, etc. It opened onto a small deck that overlooked the golf course - very nice.

We drove down from Port Perry, ON and stayed in Wytheville (another review coming) on the first day, got up and drove to the resort and played 18 in the afternoon. We had dinner at the bar - watching the hockey game playoff - great food - with drinks and tip - about $125 USD. We golfed at Seven Rivers Golf - nice, but its a course within a housing development - it was nice except for the snake on the 16th tee!!!!. We returned to the resort where the husbands played another 17. My friend and I travelled to Carthage which is about 5 minutes away to the Food Lion and picked up frozen lasanga, and frozen pizza for the next two evenings (we're on holidays - no major cooking! and stuff for sandwiches that we took with us the following day on the course and finished on the home trip. We played Whispering Woods the following day - nice again, but in a housing development.. We popped over to the village of Pinehurst and went to the golf course - spectacular - would love to golf there. If you go to this area, you have to check this out. We went into the village - beautiful, specialty stores - back to the resort!!! The guys played another 9 and then we had our pizza and watched the hockey game. Got up in the morning, checked out and then played our final 18 and then headed home - went as far as Morgantown, WV another review to come - eek!), then got up, travelled to Niagara Falls, ON and golfed the Grand Niagara - terrific, but shouldn't have had to stay on the cart path! and then home.

We'd play different courses if we went again with a package. We would include Little River. It worked well that the resort was on the course - no driving to a course if you've had some refreshments and so handy. The day we left, the Governor of NC was there for some fundraiser so it's nice enough that they do that kind of thing.
