I decided to stay at this in due to its "organic lifestyle" appeal. This was my first vacation alone in 6 years. I had to bring my 3-month old daughter with me but I was essentially on my own. We checked in at 3pm and drove to Asheville to walk around and get dinner. I brought my dinner back with us to the room at 8pm and saw my first few huge black carpenter ants. I dispatched of them quickly as I detest ants. After finishing my meal I got both of us ready for bed and we settled down for the night. At 10:00pm the people in the downstairs suite started slamming their door 5 times between 10-10:30pm each time waking my daughter. They finally stopped and then the person in the room next to ours started snoring so loudly I could hear him (or her) as though they were in my room. Finally, around midnight I rolled over to get water from the cup on my nightstand and there were ants crawling on the rim of my cup! That was the last straw. I packed up my daughter, scrawled a quick note explaining what happened and left at 12:15 in the morning to drive 3 hours to get home. After that the innkeeper wrote me a nasty email about how ants are part of nature and should not be feared (so are snakes and mice and I would not any of those in my room either) and she further went on to say that it is not an innkeepers job to keep the guests quiet (last time I checked it most certainly was) and that if I had needed complete silence for my daughter whom she had made an "exception" for, I should have stayed somewhere else. When I had spoken to her earlier she told me they don't allow kids under a certain age because the have a pool that is not fenced. Well, at 3 months old my daughter was hardly in a position to crawl much less get out of the room and into the pool, not much of an "exception". Then, to add insult to injury she lastly stated that perhaps the real reason I left the inn was because I felt guilty for leaving my son and husband at home!! So, I left in the middle of the night to drive three hours (arriving home at 3:45am) because I felt guilty?! Ridiculous. Between the wildlife en-suite, the paper-thin walls and the inherent lack of customer service (although she grudgingly refunded 1/2 my fee for the stay, it should have been the whole amount in my opinion since I was only there for a whopping 8 hours) I will never recommend this as a place for anyone to stay. Luckily, I belong to a local mothers group with about 3000 members so they all now know to avoid this place.
