“Remote, Outstanding”

We spent my birthday here this year, having purchased an evening with a LivingSocial deal. I think I booked the deal, but then scheduled the night for 2 months later (wide open.) The property itself was charming (the walls were a bit thin but hey, old building) and we spent most of the evening between the gorgeous back gardens and the breezy balcony that overlooks the square. Loved everything about the stay itself (including the yummy, fresh breakfast and friendly, chatty owners) but be warned that the town shuts down at like, 8pm. We tried to find a bottle of wine after 5pm on a Saturday night and were sorely disappointed. BYOB and prepare for a lovely, relaxing getaway.

“I would have liked to stay.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

I would have liked to stay at the Nu Wray Inn. However they also refused to honor my 2 living social vouchers due to "tremendous popularity". This a day after they had another special on Living Social.

I am so guilty! I do not always read the FINE print or follow directions either. And sometimes I forget to answer personal emails from months ago!

We would have loved to accomodate this guest but never heard back till now from mid-summer.

Our Choose and Snooze program is primarily for December. Stay the night and get a Christmas tree. Should be lots of fun.

Now back to baking my cake for tonight's goodies.

One Trip Advisor Star = Chocolate and Wine tonight.....

“Disappointing”

Like the other reviewer, I purchased a Living Social voucher for NuWray that expires at the end of November 2011. October was blocked out in the fine print. i asked the owners if i could get an extension as we can't get there in November (which was granted to me by the only other Living Social inn proprietor I had dealt with). The owners were certainly within their rights to refuse my request. I am equally within mine to question why they would choose not to work with me, a potential guest who could, just maybe, love the place and come back many times and become an ambassador. Instead, I am sharing the inflexible and arrogant attitude I experienced dealing with the owners and suggesting that life is too short and money too valuable to patronize such an establishment as the NuWray Inn. I feel certain true North Carolina charm and hospitality can be found elsewhere where guests will actually feel valued and welcomed.

Wow! We are passionate about Burnsville and the Nu Wray Inn and put in long hours each day with pleasure to offer a truly unique experience.

We apologize if our communications were offensive in any way.

Sometimes, there just isn't a match as we don't open our doors to those who threaten us with blackmail. We don't have a problem standing up for ourselves!

“What a wonderful place to stay outside of Ashville, NC”

My wife and I attended a class at the John C Campbell Folk School and had scheduled a couple of days of sightseeing at the end of the class. I found the Nu-Wray Inn located in Burnsville, NC online and decided to use that as a destination location. It's close to Ashville and turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The Inn has so much character and our host, Bob, was almost like a tour guide. He suggested a great restaurant, places to go, and scenic routes to take. The accommodations were excellent and there was a wood fire which several of the guests would sit around and visit after a day out . The breakfasts were A-1 and there was always a dessert at night. We B&B whenever we can from Ireland, to Canada and all around the States and this is one of the best!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 21. It had a King bed with bath and had a view of the garden. Faces the back off...

If your looking for a place to get reaquainted with your sweetie and browse whimsical shops, and dine at local restaurants- then Nu Wray B&B is your destnation. Check-In at 4 and enjoy a glass of wine and snacks. There will be a warm fire in the stone fireplace and an evening dessert waiting for you upon your return from dinner. Breakfast is right out of a Paula Deen episode...can't give all the secrets away so book your stay and explore!!

Room Tip: #21 is an upstairs corner room, so quiet. Didn't notice any noise however there is a street ligh...
