“New decor in lobby and Starbucks cafe are SWEET!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

The lobby opens onto a really nice, comfortable dining area that is quite attractive, as well as a large room where one may rest while waiting (on a woman, on a man, on a kid, whatever!). You have to pay for the food, but it is nice and fresh-such as yogurt parfait with fresh strawberries and granola. When was the last time you had fresh cut fruit at a hotel breakfast?
Hotel is kept fresh and clean, staff is courteous. Pool area in back is nice. Best in the area, by far. Finding the drive is tricky and signage is poor, but you can do it! Also, you do not have to cross the highway to get back to Elon University.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back-not streetside; but be warned it is a longer walk to the elevators,

“Very Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

Stopped here on our way to the beach. Very nice room, clean, helpful friendly staff. No breakfast included, but the cafe had a nice selection of good foods and served Starbucks coffee. We would return when we are in the area.

“Upgrades are a great improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

We stay here at least twice each year to visit our daughter at college. In the past it was just another bland hotel. Now, the new lobby design is bright with lots of seating areas. They have a good menu of items available all day and Starbucks coffees. The pool area has new furniture with comfortable lounge chairs. The rooms are always clean and well maintained.
We will look forward to our next visit here!

“Worth every penny! A fine place to stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We were very pleased with the accommodations. This hotel has been recently renovated and everything was fresh and clean. We really appreciated the military discount we received. The staff is very friendly and anxious to be of help.

The location is convenient to shopping and the Interstate highway. We highly recommend it to anyone. The only drawback is "no free breakfast".

“Super-friendly...”

We could not have been more pleased with our two nights here. We've never stayed in a Marriott before, so our frame-of-reference for this type of hotel is limited. We tend to vacation at Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton resorts. I only mention this because I was expecting that the Courtyard wouldn't come close to providing the level of service we find at these other hotels. I was (most happily) wrong.

We checked in at (close to) midnight by a most friendly young man. We were hot and exhausted. And all we wanted was a cool room and cushy bed. We got both -- and then some. Our room overlooked the pool and was exceedingly quiet. I find that most hotel rooms -- even the finest in the world -- do not cool to a temperature that's comfortable for me. I like my rooms cold. Not a problem here. We were able to crank-up the AC and the temp. went down to a sweet 64-degrees.

Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Three flat screen computer terminals in the lobby, The lobby is fantastic. Lots of books. Modern new furniture. Huge flat screen TV. Plenty of room to lounge.

The pool area is wonderful. Comfy and big chairs and tables for eating lunch and gathering with friends/family. The area was spotless.

Every member of the staff was so friendly and so accommodating of every request.

The Marriott Courtyard is not the St. Regis or the Four Seasons. It doesn't pretend to be. But it is a gem. I give it my highest recommendation.
