“What more could you ask for?”

Great accommodations in a wonderful part of Western NC. You can literally start your Smoky Mountains hike right off of the front porch, after a fabulous breakfast... Peaceful bucolic setting with lots of outside quiet spots to sit, sip a glass of wine, and watch the sunset! Easy access to downtown Bryson City and other local attractions, as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. Quiet, peaceful, with great hosts: what more can you ask for?

Room Tip: Loved the rooms with a deck... Sipping wine, watching the sunset...

“I did not want to leave !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

A beautiful bed and breakfast-so close to the National Park you can walk if you like to the first trail up to a nice waterfall. Breakfast was wonderful, we enjoyed the croissant and quiche day one and the french toast with a delicious fruit salad, eggs and bacon day two. The property is close to town so only a few minutes in your vehicle to check out the trains and have a nice dinner in Bryson City. The rooms were amazing-we chose the downstairs rooms-since we are not very tall, the rooms were clean, cozy, and comfortable, keep in mind this is a vintage house so don't expect the downstairs to be like the upper levels (we loved the privacy and our own downstairs entrance way), with the windows open letting in the fresh cool air we slept so well. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful with good advice and we even ordered bag lunches to take with us when we departed (very good) We hope to visit again, maybe next year to enjoy the cool crisp air and the changing leaves. Thanks to Folkestone Inn for a wonderful time! The Balboni's

Room Tip: The innkeeper is very honest and helpful with picking out a room to suit your needs, called us after...

“Excellent.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

The Inn is a real gem of a place. Every convenience has been thought of and the Inn Keepers have clearly spent a lot of time thinking of how to cater for their guests every need.

The Inn is spotless, rooms comfortable, grounds beautiful, and the breakfasts incredible – these keep you going until a late lunch which is ideal for venturing into the Smokies.

The Inn is in a great location, with Bryson City one of the best (and not overrun) small towns around the park. A delightful place to stay and thoroughly recommended!

“Warm hospitality in the Smokies”

I was lucky enough to spend two nights at the Folkestone Inn over Father's Day Weekend. The room (Back Roads and Overlooks) was beautifully appointed, and small but very comfortable. I especially loved the comfy bed, the private porch with rocking chairs, and the claw-footed bathtub - great for a long soak after a whitewater raft trip. Breakfast was spectacular, with perfectly cooked eggs and bacon, and waffles with raspberries from the garden.

Steve and Eva Clayton are gracious hosts who anticipate just about any need a guest might have. For example, there is a large refrigerator for guests carrying food with them. They even rose to the occasion when a major storm knocked out their power at the front end of my stay. I had been scheduled to spend three nights there, but the inn was still closed and without power when I arrived. The Claytons were very apologetic, and quickly made a reservation for me at an inn across town. I was delighted when their power came back on, so that I was still able to spend two nights with them.

Room Tip: Lovely porch view in

“Best spot you can pick”

The Folkestone Inn was actually the best spot for exploring the Great Smokies we could have chosen and one of the best B&B's in the US and Canada we have been to so far. The innkeepers are very friendly and helpful, the house is gorgeous and very well appointed. Breakfast was delicious. Several trails of the Great Smokies start one mile ahead of the inn, so you skip driving to the overcrowded park entrance. For rainy days, a lot of board games are provided, internet, tea and coffee are at hand all during the day. We can only recommend this spot!!! Thank you again, Steve, Eva, and Robin, for three wonderful days! Bridget and Rene from Germany
