Still traumatized! German roaches everywhere! Still can't believe I slept there! Ughhhh!!!! Camped the next night and there where a lot less bugs...

I got there, paid cash upfront, got into the room late and found feces on the sheets. this was horrible. Out of respect because it was so late, i did not want to disturb anyone, so i slept on a blanket i had brought. The next morning i told the office i could not stay here under the conditions, and they would not refund my money. Very rude, not honest, and makes me think of one of those scary movie places. not reccomended to anyone.

We called this hotel this morning and was told that they only had one room left. My wife booked a room without looking at their ratings or discussing their non refund policy. Upon arrival, I determined why they do not show a good picture of this facility. Though kept as neat and clean as possible, the cinderblock hotel was a little old and dated. I asked if I could get a refund and was told that it required 2 weeks notice for this "resort" in his words. The entire parking lot was empty with no one else in sight staying at this place. They lied to us about having only one room left to convince my wife to book in desperation. Well it worked. before I left this place we were yelling obsenities at each other. lesson learned. I expect to be billed for not staying there out of my own principles. Hope other people do not fall into this trap.

I am not sure how the owners of this facility remain in business. I have traveled in the North Carolina mountains for nearly 40 years and have never met such a distasteful and rude owner/operator. Clearly the man is not from NC, as I have always gotten along swimmingly with the locals. The facilities are average, at best. However, the behavior of the owner will forever leave a black spot on my map of western North Carolina.
