We were at the hotel last weekend with a large group of friends; adults and kids attending ASU's Open House and also ASU's football game. We all arrived at differing times after dark on Friday evening and all had the same issue locating the front entrance of the hotel. There is major long-term road construction on Hwy.421 on which the hotel is located. The original driveway off Hwy. 421 to the hotel is gone, and this hotel along with the Best Western beside it, does not offer any help in the way of signage on 421 for guests looking for the way to the current driveway entrance of these hotels. If you are coming up Hwy. 421 toward Boone the hotel will be on your left; there is a large lit "Country Inn and Suites" sign in front of the hotel. To actually get to the entrance of the hotel/parking etc. you need to go to the next stop light (intersection of Hwy.421, [Kings street] and Forest Hill drive) There is a Tuesday Morning store at that corner. Turn beside the Tuesday Morning and you will see a small, unlit sign for Country Inn at what looks to be the back of the Tuesday Morning parking lot; turn left there and then to the right up a hill you will see a lit Best Western sign, go up that hill. At the top of the hill you will find both the Country Inn and also the Best Western....the Country Inn is the first hotel (with rocking chairs on a porch)
Once we all found the hotel, check-in was a breeze and the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.. Our rooms were very clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable, and although our rooms faced Hwy.421, we did not hear any of the traffic below. We appreciated having a frig. and microwave in our rooms, as we all had tailgate food/drinks for the football game. The WIFI Internet in the rooms worked well. Breakfast for those of us who could eat it (I require a gluten-free diet....and all I found at this hotel....and to be honest, most hotels, was fruit...I think needs to change!) was much more than most hotels offer. The rest of my family, our friends and their kids were all pleased with the breakfast. The hotel was completely booked, so there were plenty of people trying to get breakfast at the same time, but it still wasn't too bad; we found places to sit and eat both mornings.
We all thought this hotel was a good value, and now that we know how to get to the entrance, we'll be back on our next trip to Boone.
