Nice surprise hidden off the main road! Friendly & accommodating! We will return to this campground!!

The campground is awesome BUT we were traveling by motorcycle and needed linens for the cabins. I asked when I reserved the cabins and was told they would be provided. We arrived right at dark, in the rain and NO linens were in the cabins. The lady at the desk was very helpful and scurried around to line up linens for the two cabins. She said they really don't provide them anymore and was truly sorry for the mix up. The office closed at 8 pm so we couldn't get coffee or warm up from our ride but she did provide us with small portable heaters for the evening. Bath house was clean and well lit. The office re-opened at 8:30 am the next morning so check out was simple.

This campground is the best in the Boone area. We arrived August 2011 to move our daughter into college. The staff were so very helpfull. They assisted in helping us back into our site and get things straight. We were camping in a pop-up and had to re-position it due to the level of the ground. But this is expected during mountain camping. It was a great site. Two of the best nights sleep I have had in months. The stream is the calling card for this campground. My daughters loved it. The atmostphere was so relaxing. Plenty of rocking chairs at the office/game room/store to just site back and make new friends. The bathhouses were nice and well kept. We have already booked two more dates this year. The staff are more than nice they helped several campers with problems with their campers to get repairs etc. We checked all the other local campgrounds and there is nothing better than Flintlock Campground. The tent sites are also great as well as if you have a larger motor home. YES there is a sharp turn to get into the campground but come one folks were are talking about mountain camping. If you want flatland go to the beach. We have found our new home when we camp in the high country. Lastly for people wanted to use the cabins they are excellent. So is the playground.

This was our first time here, but not our last. We tent camped...great tent sites, great showers and bathrooms very clean. water and electric hookup no extra charge ...One other really good thing was that there was no extra charge for fire pit - the KOA charge $10 for fire pits
