Stayed here when moving our son into ASU. The good points were, it was very convenient being "on campus" and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant and the food was very good; the wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes & wines available.

The down side was the room was very out-dated; dark and cramped but it was very clean. When we arrived I noticed from outside the hotel that the curtains of the guest rooms were torn, faded & stained however they looked better from the "room" side. A fresh coat of paint would do wonders for the place. Needs some updates to bring it out of the 70's and into the 21st century.

With that said I would stay here again as the location & convenience overides the rooms. I look for a clean, safe place to stay as I really do only use a hotel room for sleeping. I prefer to be out & about seeing & learning about the area I'm visiting.

We came to Boone in late July and all the hotels were full. The clerk at a competitor sent us to the Broyhill and we really appreciate it. It is undoubtedly the best reasonably priced stay in Boone. The room was very clean and the staff was exceptional! My wife and daughter both have food allergies and the staff sent us to outstanding restaurants every time we asked. In fact we came to depend on them. Now the Broyhill is an older hotel so the rooms are a touch smaller than a new hotel would have, but the three of us were very comfortable. The beds were great and the shower strong! We stayed three nights and left to go to the Outer Banks. When we got to the Piedmont we decided that we had the best of all worlds and returned to Boone and the Broyhill and stayed 4 more days. If you are looking for a class place with extremely competent staff with a quite environment this is it. The management told us they were planning a renovation of the rooms so it will just get even better! We give it a strong thumbs-up!

We stayed overnight and found the place to be comfortable, clean and huge. The room was dated, with old style Tv, sink out in sleeping area, dirty carpet and small bath.

We dined in dining room, which provided large viewing windows, but, with no view, non-experienced service staff, but, food was average, but, costly.

The front desk clerk was hard pressed to leave her boy-friend's side to wait on us, when checking in? Seems all the help are college aged students?

Exterior maintenance was non-existence? Sidewalks, flower gardens and parking lot, all looked deteriorated.
Had reservation for over 3 months and received room on the ground floor and the farthest one from front desk! Poor scheduling?

The room was clean but the check in and food service is sub-par. Breakfast was mediocre.
