This is about the 4th time we have stayed here and the place has been cleaned up a bit. We have 2 dogs and it's one of the few pet friendly places in the Boone area. Our room was clean and spacious and even included a refrigerator and microwave but it did show signs of it's age in the mirror and bathroom fixtures and the room had a musty smell to it. Also the shower did not drain well but there was plenty of hot water and we felt safe at night and it was not noisy and when we asked for extra towels they were brought right to our door so there has been a big improvement since our last stay there a few years back.

The smell in the rooms were pretty bad, and the door to our room seem like it wouldnt lock or stay closed. Not only that, but our toliet seat was broke and I didnt feel comfortable at with letting my 2yr. old sleep on the bed. What tripped me out the most was, they dont have HBO, so they have VHS tapes, not DVDs that you can check out and watch for free. Now does that sound like a place you want you to stay I think not, I rather stay at Patrick Henry.

we booked a room on line with Red Carpet inn in Boone NC. My husband and I wanted a get away, we checked in and the room smelled BAD!!!!!! The Air conditioner looked like it was found in a dumpster some where, we pulled down the blankets to see how clean and we found a dead tick in the bed. Cob webs hanging all around. Oh yes the heated pool was a joke.. There is no heated pool. We checked out!!! The pictures you see on line must be from the 1970's and it went all down hill from there.
When we told them about the smell and the tick and other things they said they did not care. So we went to the Best Western which was only 10 more dollars a night there. With no ticks in the room..

Fast check-in to room in back of front building. The place was obviously quite old, but had many qualities that I liked. The washroom had an inner section and outer area both with mirrors and counter space. The inside portion with shower had good heat and amazingly powerful water pressure. It was quiet, very good location in the city, and had a comfortable bed. I will stay here again when I am in the area.
