“Adequate but nothing to impress”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Front desk staff very nice, but that's about all that impressed me here. Hallway on second floor smelled like a diaper pail. Room was small but did the job. Bathroom had three towels for a family of four. Had to request more towels. Wallpaper in bathroom was patched and peeling, and water lines from other bathrooms were visible and noisy. Pillows on the bed were tiny. Bed coverings were a top sheet, a fuzzy blanket, and another sheet. No restaurant, but they did have continental breakfast; ran out of plain bagels by 7:30 am the day we were there. Indoor pool was nice but had to ask for pool towels. Vending machines were a little overpriced at 1.75 for a canned drink. Good location and nice staff aren't enough to bring me back.

“Served the purpose but won't be staying again”

Came up for a long weekend to go to beech mountain and were notified it was a pet friendly hotel when calling to make the reservations. They have a doggie walk area and all. Upon checking in we once again notified the front desk that we had a dog he said because we checked in online he was not able to give us a copy of the pet policy but not to leave the dog alone in the room which we had no problems with. And to walk the dog in the doggie area out back. At breakfast our dog was in a carrier being she is only 10 lbs and got kicked out of the food line. When talking to the manager we were told that dogs are not allowed in the hotel at all. We are not the only guests with dogs here and the employee behind the front desk even had their dog with them.

Besides the dog issue, the walls are very thin and have patch marks on them, and upon arriving there was hair left in the shower. At night the front desk staff is in the back room watching tv and you have to holler a few times to get the help you need. The room was pricey but we were willing to pay it to have our four legged friend with us.

On the good side it is located around the center of town and they have a good continental breakfast besides the coffee which was burnt for the three days that we were here. The room also had a mini fridge which was nice besides the loud noise it made fora fridge and a microwave.

Just make sure you have a vehicle that can handle snow and ice the parking lot is not tended and it's a sharp turn going up/down hill to get in and out of hotel parking.

“Perfect for Snowboarding Trip”

This hotel is a great choice for budget conscious vacationers. We went into Boone (Jan 1-6-staying an extra night) for our second time(previously had stayed in Super 8) and stayed with this hotel. The staff are very friendly and resourceful. The hotel is up on a mountainside, so you get a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was big and clean. Hot water every time. The heater/air conditioner unit warmed us up quickly.
There is a continental breakfast. Breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, waffles, bagels, coffee, tea, cocoa oatmeal, cereal. Just to name the majority. Plenty of parking spots. Very close to Appalachian Mountain. Indoor pool.

I would like to mention that we unfortunately were just getting over being sick while on our vacation and had to stay at the hotel for the majority of our trip, only having being able to go out twice for the week. The beds are super comfy and we spent most of our time in the hotel room relaxing. The view from our room was remarkable and we would stop just to look outside. Ask for room 326. The awning is right outside but cannot be seen when laying down; and the mountain view from the bed is wonderful.

Since we were sick, we had asked the reception desk if they had Dayquil/Nightquil(since they have some medicine in stock) and they unfortunately did not. However there is a store conveniently across the street that is open until 1AM. We got our medicine there.

Room Tip: Our room was 326. The awning is below the room but you cannot see it if laying down on the second be...

“Nice Hote, Nice Location”

We stayed at this Hotel for only one night, on December 23rd., in our way to spend Christmas night with our son and his family. First time in Boone, we were well impresed by Boone and its surroundings. This is a very nice Hotel at Boone. We recommend Boone and this Hotel. Nicely located on top of a Hill, they gave as a room on the third fllor overlooking a Plaza Mall with mountains on the back, very nice view. The reception was very nice, the personnel very kind and colaborative. We had breakfast in a nice place with a fireplace and conversation area with arm chairs and a sofa. The breakfast was adecuate.
It is a pity that we did not stayed longer to enjoy more Boone and this hotel, but for sure we will come back soon.

Room Tip: Rooms with front view

“Nice Place”

Me and a couple buddies came up to Sugar Mountain North Carolina to go skiing and snow boarding for a few days and decided to stay in a hotel instead of a cabin. The room was average size and had a small coffee maker but no fridge or microwave but it fit what us guys needed. The people were nice and the inhouse restaurant was also an added plus and had somewhat reasonable prices for a couple of college guys.
