Enjoyed my stay at Alpen Acres in July this year. As a regular visitor to North Carolina ,I have to say, what a beautiful mountain location and welcoming folks. Great rooms ,which have some fine artwork too ! It has a lovely heated pool to the rear and lots of space to chill out with activities provided also.
Nicely hidden back from Hwy 321 and close to Blowing Rock and Boone ;both offering great restaurants.
Some years ago I was there for the turning of the leaves in autumn...a must see !

An ideal mountain location with easy access to the town of Boone itself as well as Blowing Rock and the Parkway. Great to have the pool and peaceful grounds out back to sit and relax. We had lots of fun playing shuffleboard. I would recommend Aplen Acres to anyone visiting the area. The owners are very friendly and most accommodating,

This motel is in a lovely location, right off of 321. It's "yard" is beautiful, has plenty of area and equipment to keep visitors occupied: swing set, swimming pool, shuffle board and lots of yard space. The staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again when in the area.

My husband and I were cycling the Blue Ridge Parkway and chose Alpen Acres in Blowing Rock because it was close to the Parkway. The room was clean, comfortable and adequate to our needs. The mattress was firm, which we treasure, and I slept very well here. The breakfast was worth missing. Most importantly, I had a bicycle break-down along the way to Blowing Rock and needed transportation to a bicycle shop in Boone. The owner was most accommodating in allowing me to use her phone (AT&T does not provide adequate coverage along the Blue Ridge Parkway) and helping us find transportation. She could not have been more helpful or considerate, and even offered to extend our reservation, should we require it (we were able to get our bike fixed!). The motel is a quiet location (despite its proximity to a rather busy highway) and we were glad we chose to stay here.
