“Exceptional Service, Warm and Inviting”

I visited here 10 years ago and loved it but this stay was the best. Stephen, the manager, was accomodating and made sure we had everything we needed for the room. Breakfast was served early and on time daily. The location is close to the Tanger Outlets, an adorable downtown decorated for the holidays and delicious restaraunts. I will definitely be back here again.

“Great Stop on Blue Ridge Pkwy”

I recently stayed at this delightful inn on my journey down the parkway and really enjoyed it. The manager, Stephen, was extremely helpful. The room was quaint, clean, and comfortable. And the view of the pond was unobstructed. This place is aptly named - it really is on the side of a cliff, so all the rooms have a great view with a balcony. I understand the current ownership is fairly new, so older reviews should be read with that in mind. I only stayed one night, but if I travel in that area again, I'll make this place my base of operations.

Room Tip: The rooms are arranged on a cliff (hence the name) so the higher you go, the better the view.

“Hospitable, Close to Everything, Great View”

Stephen and the Cliff Dwellers team provided us with a SUPERIOR experience in Blowing Rock! It definitely seems as though they have turned the Inn around, for the better. Our room was clean and had a fresh coat of paint, new linens, was spacious and had a great private deck with a beautiful view of the mountains. The Cliff Dwellers Inn team was very friendly and helpful, and made wonderful suggestions for sites to see and restaurants. The Inn's location was perfect too! It's only about 1 mile from downtown Blowing Rock, one mile from the outlet mall, and just minutes to Boone, Banner Elk, and Grandfather Mountain. We had an amazing time and will definitely be revisiting Cliff Dwellers Inn in the near future!

“Cozy, lovely and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

It had been over 4 years since I last stayed here at the Cliff Dwellers Inn and after reading a few negative reviews, I had no idea what I was going to be getting into. Hands down to the Inn Keeper and all whom care for this cozy place because I enjoyed every minute. The Inn keeper was very pleasant, helpful and very polite. The room itself was cozy, clean and had a homey feel and the HEAVY continental breakfast was unbelievable! There was not a negative aspect at all....I can not wait to go back. Thank you Cliff Dwellers!

“BEWARE: SCAM”

We prepaid for an expensive jacuzzi suite, and after a long day of traveling arrived to find a ghost hotel. Not a guest in sight (all windows open, so you could see the rooms were empty), no one in the office, and no one answering the phone. When we tried to leave a message the voicemail box was full. It was empty, unkept, and very creepy.

There are many other nice hotels in Blowing Rock (we are now staying at Chetola; they saved the day, and were cheaper!), and are trying to get our money back. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!

Stephen Roper, Manager at Cliff Dwellers Inn, responded to this review
12 December 2011
Hello all! My name is Stephen Roper and I'm the new manager of Cliff Dwellers Inn. For those questioning whether or not you should visit this property, I would urge everyone to disregard this specific review for several reasons.

1) The place at the time of this individual's visit was in fact abandoned by the previous owners, hence the property having no one working and/or staying here. I assure you that if you visit us the place will NOT be empty, unkept, or creepy. As evidenced by other reviews, we are now under new management (myself) and have addressed many issues guests may have had with the rooms and property.

2) This review also states that this individual was trying to get their money back. In no way does that reflect this management's policies or practices. We are not holding onto any previous reservations and their rates so, again, we are not responsible for holding this individual's money. In fact, I don't charge anyone until AFTER they have checked out.

I just wanted to address this particular review because it's rather scathing and should not deter anyone from visiting since it is, at this point, totally inaccurate. Thank you all for considering Cliff Dwellers Inn and I sincerely hope you give us a try!

Thank you,
Stephen Roper
