“Old Fashioned Southern Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This is a first class place. From reservations to checkout this Inn is wonderful. I can't think of anything negative to say. Food was yummy, atmosphere charming, room comfortable, spa great. Folks here treated us with the utmost respect. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and caring. Would recommend this for anyone looking for something different from the usual box hotels.

Room Tip: Corner room was big, sunny, charming and comfortable

“Affordable waterfront charmer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011 via mobile

Great harbor location, walkable to charming Beaufort shops and museums. Charming hotel with terrific rooms. Be sure to spring for waterfront rooms that have small balconies with teak benches for reading and watching canal traffic. Lovely seated breakfast included in pleasant dining room with fireplace and water views. This place should not be missed. Friendly staff and good value.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and do hope to see you again. We also have rooms with lovely rocking chairs...but of course any room on the water has wonderful sunset views. Hope you visit again soon.

“A gem of a location”

Beaufort is a lovely place to spend some time. We were thrilled to pull into the parking lot and see the location, right on the water and so close to the downtown boardwalk. A bonus is the neighborhood, which is wall to wall historic properties. The locals are friendly and love to tell you about all the great places to visit.

Our room was large and had a balcony large enough to accommodate two comfy chairs to watch the sunset over the water.

The hotel was quiet and a big bonus for those who travel a lot and know how poor the lighting is in most hotel rooms - lots and lots of lighting.

The breakfast was in a beautiful room, overlooking the water and we felt a bit special as we were served our meal.

The wifi actually worked all the time. In our experience on this trip it is rather rare that wifi actually works with ay consistency.

Only thing I would change - a microwave would have been appreciated.

We would definitely return and even think this town might be a place where we would like to spend an extended period of time. It is beautiful.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. And do hope that you will come back- even for an extended stay. We do offer suites! As for the microwave in each room- since that may come in the future- we do allow guests to use the one downstairs when we are not so busy. So on your next trip just come on down and we'll be glad to accomodate you. :) See you next time.

“Very, very nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at The Beaufort Inn. Our third floor room was spotlessly clean, the air conditioning & wifi worked without a hitch, the view from the little balcony was sweet, and the location is tops. Just a few little caveats........

I don't see why a place of this quality doesn't provide both shampoo and conditioner. The little bottle says "conditioning shampoo" but it didn't work that way at all! It seems a small and rather odd way of saving money. Especially after a day of sun and wind on the beach, my hair NEEDS conditioner! I felt like Phyllis Diller when I went out to eat with my husband. There was also no body lotion, no shower cap, nothing but that crappy shampoo and some soap--rather scanty.

There's a lovely library with all kinds of books & magazines that guests are forbidden to take to their rooms. I understand being concerned about theft but having a library-like check out system would cover that. Or make people leave a deposit. Again, in a beautiful and otherwise classy establishment, this comes off as mean-spirited.

Finally, the breakfast is a nightmare if you are watching your weight: croissants, danish, sausage & egg pie/quiche, cereals. No yoghurt, no fresh fruit, not even a plain hard boiled egg. It would take so little to upgrade this convenience to appeal to a wider spectrum of guests. We took care of this the second morning, having stopped and purchased some decent breakfast food in town the day before. Our room's fridge was ample and again, the cleanest I've ever seen.

The coffee is plentiful, and good, and they leave the carafe out all day, which is a nice touch. Also, there is an exercise room, but it is locked--you have to get someone at the desk to open it for you. There should be a way for one's room key to provide access, if they're worried about non-guests using the (meager) equipment. Having to ask feels too "high school" for my taste.

The staff was extremely efficient and friendly, checking in and out was a breeze, and thank you for the free parking and free wifi. You'll love your stay at The Beaufort Inn---just bring something to supplement breakfast if you're not into carbs. and bring your own toiletries.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the harbor--the sunsets are stunning.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, and hope that you will visit with us again. We try to provide you with the necessaties that our guests may have forgotten. Our soaps and shampooo are Dial products. We also do have lotion and shower caps upon request. We keep them at the Front Desk as they are rarely needed by our guest, so all you have to do is drop by and pick one up, or call down and we would be able to bring one up for you. The breakfast, however, has been the same way since it was opened and most everyone enjoys it, but all our rooms have mini-fridges and some also have a microwave. Our key system is a real key not electronic so it is not feesable to have a way into the exercise room through your room key- but you can also call down and say you would like to get in the exercise room and we will unlock it for you so you just have to walk right in. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and will see you again in the future.

“LOVELY PLACE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

I want to say this is a very nice hotel. What made my experience so great was the waitress over our stay Katrina (I believe was her name). She held our 9 month old son while my husband and I enjoyed our breakfast. Not only does our son not go to strangers, she was very good with him, showing him all the boats and looking out the windows. We loved that she took the time to do that for us out of wanting to not having to. Not any of the hotels we have stayed at cared to help. I am very grateful and will come again next year when we work the Seafood Festival. Thank you so much.
