We stayed at the Pecan Tree Inn back in 1996 for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then my parents bought a house in Beaufort where we would stay when we visited the town. This year my parents tried to cram too many family members into the house for a Christmas gathering and my husband and I decided to retreat and revisit the Pecan Tree.
Innkeeper Dave was wonderfully accommodating - when we were delayed by traffic and unable to arrive at our original time, one phone call was all it took to adjust arrangements for our arrival. He was attentive at breakfast both days and also responsive when we had an issue with the hot water in our room. (Turns out our desired boil-a-lobster temperature is a bit much for filling that double-size whirlpool bath.)
Our room, the Beaufort Suite, was very comfortable and decorated nicely. The bath was large and clean. There was a handy surge protection strip for us to charge all our tech gear in one place. We had tumblers and wine glasses provided and ice was available down the hall along with useful kitchen items like corkscrews. Our room was tidied and neat while we were out.
Breakfast was excellent, with hot beverages and juice, fresh fruit, cereals, bagels and breads, and homemade breads/scones/muffins each morning.
The parlor area was decorated with a gorgeous Christmas tree and was perfect for relaxing with a newspaper or one's laptop/iPad.
The location is perfect for visitors to Beaufort, being just around the corner from the town's waterfront Front Street and all its shops and restaurants.
Should we ever need another excuse to stay in paying accommodations in Beaufort we will certainly return to the Pecan Tree Inn.
