“A wonderful stay in a lovely place”

We stayed at the Pecan Tree Inn back in 1996 for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then my parents bought a house in Beaufort where we would stay when we visited the town. This year my parents tried to cram too many family members into the house for a Christmas gathering and my husband and I decided to retreat and revisit the Pecan Tree.

Innkeeper Dave was wonderfully accommodating - when we were delayed by traffic and unable to arrive at our original time, one phone call was all it took to adjust arrangements for our arrival. He was attentive at breakfast both days and also responsive when we had an issue with the hot water in our room. (Turns out our desired boil-a-lobster temperature is a bit much for filling that double-size whirlpool bath.)

Our room, the Beaufort Suite, was very comfortable and decorated nicely. The bath was large and clean. There was a handy surge protection strip for us to charge all our tech gear in one place. We had tumblers and wine glasses provided and ice was available down the hall along with useful kitchen items like corkscrews. Our room was tidied and neat while we were out.

Breakfast was excellent, with hot beverages and juice, fresh fruit, cereals, bagels and breads, and homemade breads/scones/muffins each morning.

The parlor area was decorated with a gorgeous Christmas tree and was perfect for relaxing with a newspaper or one's laptop/iPad.

The location is perfect for visitors to Beaufort, being just around the corner from the town's waterfront Front Street and all its shops and restaurants.

Should we ever need another excuse to stay in paying accommodations in Beaufort we will certainly return to the Pecan Tree Inn.

Room Tip: If you want a romantic retreat, ask for the Beaufort Suite or Queen Ann Suite with their large whirl...

Very quaint B&B right in the middle of everything Beaufort has to offer. Accommodations exceeded my expectations and was pleased to know that great restaurants, bars, and attractions were within walking distance.

“An oasis of peace and wonder!”

Wonderful, wonderful! We felt like princesses - our room was absolutely lovely, we especially liked the green carpet and the vivid red colors of the comforter on the bed. Dave was the perfect host and greeted us in the morning with an exquisite breakfast - he even gave us the recipe for the tasty granola and the muffins... If you want a perfect setting for a visit to Beaufort, this is the place - Dave directed us to all the sights in Beaufort and led us to have a wonderful dinner across the road at the Blue Moon Bistro. Try the Pecan Tree Inn - you won't regret it. We're definitely coming back!

“4th Visit - Still Relaxing and Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

This was our 4th visit to the Pecan Tree Inn, we go every few years. This visit we stayed in the Pine Room (2nd floor with bay window), and it was as lovely as we remembered. The Inn has been a residence since 1900, and the property dates back to 1866. Despite the age, the Inn is clean and comfortable. Rooms are delightfully decorated, and the Inn itself is warm and inviting. We love the porches with the wicker chairs, the fountain and porch out back, the rocking chairs. I hope the English Garden will be tended and blooming this spring! Breakfast is a nice continental, with wonderful baked goods, hard boiled eggs, granola, fruit, yogurt, juices, etc. We never left hungry. The location is perfect - just off Front Street and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Two of the best dining experiences are a few steps away - the Beaufort Grocery and the Blue Moon Bistro. Coffee, tea, and filtered water are available 24 hours - really like the new Keurig. WiFi is available, but didn't seem to be working during our visit (no problem, we were there to "get away"). If you want a charming, restful visit full of southern hospitality, this is the place to go.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautifully appointed, but if you want a larger room, choose the Beaufort Suite or...

“Great location, amenities, hospitality”

This was our first trip to Beaufort and the Pecan Tree Inn. Dave was an excellent host! From the Keurig coffee station available 24x7, Fig the cat, the bikes available at no charge to guests, to the expert advice on where to go and what to do, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We rented kayaks and paddled over to Carrot Island, hiking to see the banker ponies. We also enjoyed eating at Queen Anne's Revenge on the waterfront and watching the dolphin pass by in channel. And don't miss the Maritime Museum!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Queen Anne Suite, upstairs with private access, a beautiful view of the garden and...
