“A Merry Family Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We just returned from the Yuletide Family Weekend held at The Adirondack Holiday Lodge. All I can say is - it was truly a magical weekend for my two little girls from the minute we arrived until we left. The Lodge is a little old and could use some updating but the rooms were clean and so were all of the public areas. We had plenty of towels and when we asked for more pillows they were given to us right away. The staff and service more then make up for dated lodge. The owners and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make your our stay amazing. We have a child with allergies and they were very attentive and willing to help. The owner himself made my daughters feel welcome and special each day. He greeted them each morning by their names and asked them how they slept or how they enjoyed their day. I can't say enough good things about the people who own this place and the staff they employ.

I loved that all of the activites for the Yuletide Family Weekend took place right inside the Lodge and that you could just walk from your room to down stairs and not have to put on a jacket and go outside. It makes it much easier with the kids. The sitting area was beautifully decorated for the Holidays and it had a feeling of warmth about it. It was very quaint and we just enjoyed sititng around the fireplace and talking to other guests.

If you are going to the Yuletide Family Weekend - I highly recommend you stay here.

“Kids & Santa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Lodge shows signs of 70 years of wear, BUT the service and Christmas theme shows more than offsets this. Treated with respect and courtesy for entire three days of stay. Entire time keep busy with provided children's entertainment. If you like Christmas and you want to bring Santa into your Holidays come here.

“Can't Speak for the Hotel - but breakfast was GREAT!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

We didn't stay at the Hotel, we just stopped for Breakfast. The Hotel does look run-down on the outside. But the Diningroom was open for breakfast - and I must say it was one of the Best breakfast places in the entire Lake Placid area! They have real home made bread! And everything was reasonably priced!

“Disgusting”

On a fall foliage trip we found this Motel. Being Columbus Day weekend....without reservations there was not much of a choice. We should have drove further that night. The first thing we noticed was the musty smell of our room. When contacted the owner said they are working on the problem. Well they must be working on the washers also....our linens were disgusting. My children were hilkng in the rear of the motel and found plenty of tires and assorted junk. AVOID THIS PLACE !!!!!

“Just terrible”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We were in the area for the Ironman triathlon. We were expecting to get a nice lodge where we could enjoy our time off and relax. First of all, the carpet imn the room was disgusting. The matresses were older than my grand father and I was not even able to open the door to access the balcony. Antway, the green carpet on the balcony was so dirty and full of insects that I didn't want to go outside. We had breakfast the day after the race. The restaurant is nice but it took us 90 minutes to get our 2 eggs. The 2 young ladies working were obviously new and between smoking outside and answering to the clients at the lobby, they had to work in the restaurant. What the heck, I finished my third ironman. Seriously, don't go there and now I understand why they still had vacancy prior to the race.

I wish I could help this guest I feel terrible that he/she did not enjoy their stay with us. It would have been extremely helpful had they brought there concerns to our attention during their stay so we could have assisted at that time. We are fully booked for Iron Man well in advance each year so I don't understand the just driving by and deciding to stay. All of our rooms for this period are booked directly though Iron Man USA, we don't have walk ins. But never the less since purchasing this lodge Greg and I have worked tirelessly to see that each of our guests enjoy their stay with us. Sometimes we will fail. Iron Man is a crazy week but still if even a part of this is the truth then we will try to work harder and do better. Chris Santa, Owner
