My husband stays at first class hotels around the world and has exacting standards, plus he doesn't like the B&B experience -- so I knew from a prior visit that it would be difficult to find a place he'd like in Woodstock when our son was skiing nearby. To my surprise, I found the ideal place online -- and we are already looking forward to a return visit! The "Inn at Willow" provides the perfect 3-room suite in a private home on a lovely country property. The charming hosts, Gabrielle and Tim Raven, are welcoming and a ready source of information on attractions in the area -- or will leave you totally to your own devices if you so desire. The private entrance to the suite is on a secluded side of the hosts' rambling house; the feeling is like having one's own small cottage. The space includes a good-sized living room with cable TV and wireless internet, a separate bedroom with pocket doors, and a separate kitchenette area stocked with granola, muffins, bagels, fruit, cream cheese, yogurt, juice, milk, sodas, coffee, teas, etc. Gabi is an interior designer, and the suite is impeccably decorated in soothing pale blue, buttercream and rust colors, with very appealing fabrics and furnishings. There is one queen bed, but the living room easily accommodated an air mattress for our son, which was made up before our arrival. The space is as comfortable and as pretty as can be, and is flooded with light from the many windows, which look out on a picturesque woodsy country setting. The location is about 10-15 mins from the town of Woodstock and about 30-40 mins from skiing at Bellayre or Hunter. If you're looking for a place to stay in Woodstock, it doesn't get better than this.
