My first experience with Extended Stay America Hotels was in 2006. I drove from Naples, FL to NYC for an extended business trip. I stayed at the Extended Stay America Hotel in Secaucus, New Jersey from 03 July to 11 September 2006. I was back at the same hotel for a stay of three weeks in October, 2008. The hotel accomodations are a mini-suite, with a kitchen. The hotel and rooms are clean, modern, comfortable. The staff (especially Carmen, at this hotel) are all friendly, courteous and helpful.

On my most recent visit to the Extended Stay America Hotel, New York City, LaGuardia Airport, due to time restraints, I flew on Jet Blue from Fort Lauderdale to LaGuardia. I stayed in this hotel from 15 Dec to 18 Dec 2008. The hotel decor is exactly like the one in New Jersey. It is clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff, I dealt with, especially Jennifer (Assistant General Manager), was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful in every respect.

For value (my stay of three nights cost a total of $435.00, tax included, this hotel is the best.

The only objection I have to the Extended Stay America Hotels is the televisions are too small. They do have cable, High Speed Internet, laundry room and vending machines.

I needed to stay for one night in the NYC area in between flights – but I was also on a very tight budget. I looked everywhere for the cheapest hotel that wasn’t too far from the airport, and this is where I landed. The location is quiet close to LGA and not too far from JFK. There really isn’t anything around except highway and office buildings. We arrived sometime in the late evening and checked out early, so our time spent here was small. The front desk seemed to be a bit clueless (mumbling through the check in and not really offering much). The room was super basic, but had the amenities of an Extended Stay chain (kitchenette, free parking, laundry access, free WiFi). There was an obstructed view of the Whitestone Bridge from the room. I booked via Hotwire to get the best rate (less than $120/night). For what I needed, it was perfect. If you are planning a big trip to NYC ... this is not the place to stay (too far away from the city with no easy way to get there).

For those familiar with the Extended Stay America chain you will find this location like most of the others. Once a week maid service, free parking, big fridge and a basic stove top for cooking.

As for this location the staff is friendly. If your driving the location is not bad. But there is not a lot close by.

Over all the property provides a good clean room at a good value. The monthly rates are a great value.
