“Warm and Inviting!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2012

From the moment of our arrival we found this historic Inn extremely comfortable and inviting with wonderful views over Lake Champlain, and distant mountains. We arrived by train and spent three delightful nights. Our hosts, Anthony and Alexandra, were more than happy to collect us from the station, and drop us out for dinner at night. The breakfasts were served in a delightfully sunny setting and with beautifully fresh fruits, bagels and fluffy waffles. We were also able to hire bicycles and ride out into the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with such warm and pleasant hosts, and would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely establishment which has been so tastefully decorated and restored.

“Wonderful rooms but on the main street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2012

We had booked their Oscar Wilde suite which was just wonderful, spacious, full of antique furniture and lovely bathroom BUT, if like me you have trouble with street noise, then this could be a problem. Not much at night but very large vehicles pass right by intermittently..we changed to a much smaller but still charming room at the back.
Excellent hosts- and a neat bookstore/library- read anything you like, and buy it if you want!
Very fast free internet.

We are so glad our guest enjoyed their stay and after finding out they where musicians and very sensitive to sound we were more than happy to move them to another room.

“Beautiful and very clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011 via mobile

I have stayed at a few places between Elizabethtown and Westport and this is by far the most comfortable. It is very clean and each room is tastefully decorated. You can tell that the owners take great pride in their home by the subtle details. The owners are gracious and accommodating even though we were walk-ins.

“Quaint, cute and lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Fantastic!!!! Everything about this Inn is wonderful. We stayed in the William Shakespeare room which is situated on the front with a lovely arch window with views of the lake. The four poster bed was amazing and truly comfortable. The facilities were excellent with tea and coffee being available 24 hours and a good selection of DVDs available for your use. There is even a cupboard with every "extra" you could think of such as extra pillows, hair driers etc. My only wish is that I could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: The William Shakespeare room is an excellent choice for views of the lake to enjoy amazing sunrises...

“no sleep”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Please note that the poor rating was for this room and it's location only. The Inn is lovely, the owner very nice and the room very comfortable and attractive. BUT the Emily Dickinson room is in the front of the hotel and traffic noise was very loud. We tried the air conditioner but that was even louder. We finally got up before six am and left having had very little (if any) sleep. If you live in an urban area and are used to traffic noise then this might be perfect for you, but if like us, you are country mice, then ask for a room in the back. They might well rate an excellent.

Room Tip: If you value quiet, ask for a room in the back
