“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. The lodge only has a few rooms but each room has a separate entrance off the pool area. The lodge has a separate dining room with free tea & coffee all day & a lounge with free DVDs.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with modern, quality fittings. We booked a spa room which also had a separate shower. The room had a DVD player so you could borrow DVDs free of charge to watch in your room.

Breakfast is included and is cooked to order for you - absolutely delicious! Also included is afternoon tea - always a bonus!

Kalbarri is very small so the location is perfect, just 5 or 10 minutes walk to the beach and a few minutes drive into the town (probably walkable in 15 mins or so but we were also on our way somewhere else so always drove).

I can't recommend this property highly enough.

“Hoorah!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2010

At last somewhere that I can wholeheartedly recommend on this trip!

Sharyn was a friendly, and courteous host. Tea and muffins were awaiting us on arrival, together with recommendations for restaurants that evening.

Port and chocolates are available in the guest lounge during the evening. The house and guest rooms are clean, modern and contemporary. Not surprisingly, Geckos are the decorative theme throughout.

A small pool and sun loungers are available for guest use.

Breakfast is either a simple continental offering, or you can select from a menu of cooked options. You need to make your choice the night before, but that just gives you something to look forward to next morning!

Coffee and tea is available in the guest lounge throughout the day.

Kalbarri is an attractive small town, convenient for a stop off on the way to (or from) the Sharks Bay area. Activities include boat trips, walking, parrot park and seahorse sanctuary (unfortunately closed when we stayed in Feb).

A few good dining options in town, we enjoyed the Black Rock Cafe.

“One Of The Best B&Bs !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2009

Just a perfect place to stay - the only thing that we got wrong was not staying for more than one night both from the point of view of the accommodation being top quality but also Kalbarri being worth a longer stay.
The whole place was beautifully clean and decorated to a very high standard.
The owner was such a nice person and made us feel extremely welcome.

“Fantastic B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2009

We stayed at Gecko Lodge (Queen Spa room) for 2 nights on our way to Denham-Monkey Mia. The accommodation was fabulous, very clean and attractive. Breakfast was fine and Sharyn was a perfect host! The rooms can be reached individually, there is a small pool for all guests and a very attractive guest room where Sharyn offers port, muffins and you can relax while watching DVDs or read a book. You can park your car behind the lodge.
Kalbarri and it's surroundings offer a lot to do. We went to Kalbarri National park (about 30 km drive) and walked the loop (8 km) we met kangaroos and flies, really a lot of flies and that was our only negative Kalbarri experience:-)
From Red Bluff outlook we've seen the whales!! and the coastline is really awesome!!

“perfect B&B”

We spent one night in 2008 on the 7th of november. We had a very nice room, very clean, a warm welcome by our hostess, a super breakfast. There was plenty of parkingspace. We can recommend this b&B to everyone. The room was situated in a sort of bungalowstyle, a small pool with a view deckchairs to enjoy the afternoon sun. You could have a glass of port and a muffin. We had a lovely meal in Kalbarri. Not cheap but well worth it.
