Spend the extra and get a superior room. Nice garden with benches BBQ and pool and spa area. Good value for the area

This review refers to the Dunsborough Backpackers, which is also ran at the motel - same location but different part of the building.

This was the only place in Dusnborough - better, in Australia - where I found a double bedroom for A$40/night (the bedroom, not per person since I was traveling solo). The bedroom is very basic: Double bed, small table and a chair. Can be noisy during the day but very quiet after 10pm.

The common facilities: I did not have access to the motel guests' facilities (e.g.pool) but the bathrooms are good and clean, just as the kitchen. The latter can get dirty but is guest's fault, not the staff's. It is right at the centre of the city in front of a supermarket and not too far from the beach. Not much atmosphere but you can get to know other guests in the kitchen or the games room.

Veredict: for me it worked well - the place is very basic but it has a place to sleep after spending the day enjoying the natural beauty of Geographe Bay and fits within my budget. Would definitely stay there again and recommend for a friend under similar budget constrains looking for a quiet place (i.e. not a party hostel).

We stayed here only for 1 night whilst down in Dunsborough for a wedding. I was a little concerned when our motel door opened out onto the main road, but once inside the room you are shielded from the traffic noise outside. I found the rooms to be clean and the bed very comfortable. For what we wanted to the room - just to sleep in as we were with the bride and groom most of the time, the price and comfort was perfect. It is within very close proximity to lots of cafe's and eating places.
